“So you think everything is just black and white? That there is only wrong and right and that one’s opinion can decide the way of things?” how was she to be blamed for anything? She had no idea she was talking to real people, she trusted him when he told her it was just a game. Even when things were overly suspicious, she put her faith in him and this was all she got. 

Betrayal.

Yeah, that described the rage she felt inside. How could he do this? How could he pretend like it had nothing to do with him when he was 100% involved? “So this so-called Savior is nowhere to be blamed for what you’ve become? Have you ever thought about how much you’re actually used and not making a sane decision at all when just following her words?” that woman was sick. The meeting before with her made Naree completely sure about that. And now seeing how Ray was acting - how he was having a complete personality change, which could be due to his mind splitting - the blonde also swore to rip her face off the next time she dares to visit. 

“You don’t know what I went through... thinking it’s all about just this place and her stupid visions is where you’re so utterly wrong. I didn’t let my past failures and mishaps rule over me and my life, I fought, and I freed myself from them. I could do it... and so can you.” his wicked laugh made her wince; all she could hope at this point that her words somewhat reached him. That it wasn’t too late to help him.

Naree liked solitude. After the trouble with her family, it was quite a relief to have things going on for her life, having a small income that ensured her to slowly save up and perhaps soon enough buy her own place, maybe with a small garden, and lots of cats. Perhaps she should aim higher, but with her wage, it was not really a possibility. 

After her cat’s death, she realized, solitude was nowhere fun in reality. She was living, earning money, but for what? When no one even cared she existed, when everyone was just a stranger, having no friends, at most just enemies, people looking at her strangely for being a foreigner... When she found that post about game testing on her vacation, it felt like the best decision to make. Something to spice up her boring life.  And it was not a decision she regretted. In fact, she liked Ray more and more, and hoped that maybe, he would feel the same about her. That perhaps her solitude would finally end and her life would begin at last.

[Text] I don’t know... you rushed out so suddenly, I feel like it’s because you want to avoid me. [Text] I’m not mad, I’m just worried.  [Text] Worried for you.  [Text] I’m scared you’d get hurt or something. I want you to promise me... that you’ll take care of yourself too. [Text] Even if it means you have to stay away from me, I understand.

If that would be the cost of ensuring him being okay and saved from this weird place, she would make that sacrifice.  He deserved so much better...

She liked him? No. She liked Seven. The one in the chatrooms who could laugh among friends, who didn’t betray those he loved, who didn’t live a lie for the last few years of his life. He was the one who she cared for - right? He glanced off towards the ground as he tried to pull together his thoughts - only for his attention to snap straight back at Naree as he felt the light kiss upon his cheek. “Why?”, he whispered once he’d finally managed to catch his breath, “Why do you like me?” Because it wasn’t him. It couldn’t be him. All he did was mess things up. He’d tried so hard to protect that which was most important to him and failed. How could he risk failing again? With Naree being the one to hurt this time? “….you don’t get in my way… I just don’t want you to get hurt… can’t you understand that? This is my burden. It’s a problem I created…”

“I don’t know, why do people fall in love? Why do people give so much meaning to a religion? Why do people hurt others and become serial killers?” she could muse about the answers for all her life and probably not find the real reason behind them anyways. 

“I’m in this pithole as well. I don’t want to stay out of it because you mean a lot to me. I want to help. And I’m not afraid of getting hurt, I might not look strong, but I can take care of myself well enough, so I wouldn’t be an easy target” the blonde smiled and caressed his cheek with a hand gently. “As I said, you don’t have to face this all alone. If you shut yourself away like this you aren’t protecting anyone, you’re just ensuring your own failure. You can’t even calm down, Luciel. At least depending on me a little might help you more than you realize, so give it a try.”

“…it’s not even that deep”. A soft sigh as he glances off to one side and allows for Naree to wrap a clean band aid around the cut on his finger tip - a miss aim of a kitchen knife that could have easily been a whole lot worse than it was. Saeran had simply been distracted by the spider that had popped out of no where - his squeal of surprise soon masked by the yell of pain as the knife he’d been preparing vegetables with, cut into flesh. It was simply one of those days where it felt as though the entire world was suddenly out to get him. “…maybe we should go out for dinner though…” @tae-naree

“Doesn’t matter, it can still get infected if you’re not careful” she scolded him lightly, soon done with patching him up. “There you go” Naree couldn’t blame him for the cut - in fact she couldn’t even come treat him until he got rid of that spider. But hey, at least she tried! 

...By staying five meters away yelling for him to kill it.

“I’m probably not going to be comfortable now that I know there was a spider here to prepare anything, and I don’t want you to accidentally cut yourself again either, so... yeah, probably best if we go out tonight.”

“Aaah, you guessed that all too easy,” then again she might just not be too good at tricky riddles. “Well, your turn now! I bet you’ll come up with something far harder to guess…” he was a smart guy, after all.

It was a familiar sting on his cheek. Something, his mother always used to do too, if she had a good mood. So - when she didn’t beat him up as a whole. Something, that was always rather seldom.

However - she couldn’t really understand though, why the girl in front would slap him? Did he do something wrong? Did he say something wrong?

“I - I am sorry for upsetting you…”, Ray whispered quietly, “I won’t do it anymore… just don’t leave… don’t hate me… okay?”

With tears at the corner of her eyes, she took a deep breath to calm down, pulling the other into a hug. “Seriously... I told you before, didn’t I? Stop with this talk about Savior and how you’re worthless and useless... you’re wonderful, Ray, why do you believe what that person says? Why are you here? Why don’t you want to leave...?” maybe literally trying to slap some sense into him wasn’t the best idea, but when he was throwing a huge pity party she couldn’t help it, she felt bad for unable to do anything worthwhile for him as nothing she ever tried seem to have any effect; then again, what was she good at besides making fondant flowers on cupcakes as topping... “I don’t hate you at all. I like you, a lot. You know what I hate? Seeing you being hurt by this place. You deserve so much better than this crap.”
