01. Why have you chosen Mystic Haven to pursue a career with?
‘Cause you were hiring? And my last job kind of fell through so like, onto the next thing right? I dunno, it’s a nice resort and shit, and you got free housing. Also like, why does this need to be so dramatic? I’m literally applying to clean tables like calm down.
02. What do you think you can bring to the team, in terms of skills or attitude?
I can put dishes in a big bin and wipe down a table. I do what I’m told at work, cause like, there’s no reason not to unless you wanna make your job harder and who wants to do that? Not me!
03. Finally, here at Mystic Haven Resort, we believe change is inevitable and something to embrace. Do you believe you can roll with the changes in your life, or are you stuck in your ways?
Ya, I was a fucking carnie. Sorry. I was a carnie. So like change is part of it, new towns, new things all the time. I’m down for whatever, s’long as I get days off, at least one a week would be great.
HEADCANONS
1. Ever since he was a baby, Barrel has never been far from his two older siblings. He’s always relied on them for support, advice and getting out of trouble, to the point of the trio being a bit codependent on each other. Living on the streets since they were teenagers forced them to be. However now as adults, the trio have separated a bit, going their own ways. Barrel isn’t entirely sure how to do life not following after his siblings, he tends to feel lost and alone without them by his side.
2. Throughout his life Barrel has been referred to as “dumb”, something that as a child he was adamant was not true. As he got older though, Barrel learned the advantages of being seen as dumb, expectations are lower and you can get away with a lot more claiming ignorance. Because of this, he tends to present himself as a bit of an idiot. While he’s not the smartest guy and only has an 8th grade level education, he is very resourceful and clever.
3. Barrel barely acknowledges that his given name is Barret. He has never actually been called that, except his sister messing with him. A large part of it is due to the fact that the trio were abandoned at a children’s home when he was barely one year old, and Barrel refuses to acknowledge a name that was given to him by people who would abandon him. The only reason the name has come up again in his life is his job, apparently when you have a “real” job with taxes and actual paychecks you have to use your “government name”.
