raised by the 52nd century version of lilium, carina was experimented on as a child with nanites injected into her body. as a teen, she stole some of the technology used to send her through time for training directly with assassins in history, and would use it to go through time for personal entertainment. upon being discovered doing that, she ran away with the technology, and eventually landed in sabre city, bringing the attention of the misfits. taken in by keaton because of their shared assassin upbringing, carina adapts fairly easily, but still has a tendency to use her technology to travel through time and universes when she’s bored. or fiddling with machinery and making small explosions.

during their final fight through the dread hiveship, rae happened across a small alien child, barely old enough to walk, trapped in a cage with several corpses. horrified, rae rescued the child and sent her back to earth in the care of agent blackadder. once the dust had settled, rae took the child in for some tests and ultimately determined that her physiology was unique among the species known to her thanks to her connections to the green lantern corps. the child refused to go with anyone except rae, freaking out when anyone who wasn’t rae approached her. rae decided to care for the child, naming her kieran. kieran eventually settled in fine to life on earth, usually using her shapeshifting abilities to appear human so as to not startle earth’s citizens, as her true form includes shimmering purple skin and iridescent wings not unlike an earth dragonfly.
