There's a tiny ding as the doors of the elevator begin to close, but catching sight of a person rapidly approaching, Kei does the good thing and sticks out a hand out to stop the doors closing.

Courtesy wasn’t exactly a new concept, but active responsiveness, friends, was something he was still growing into, constantly working at it.

Clipped, short, precise, friendly. With a happy nod, he continued on his way to work, lime boiled sweet on his tongue.
