Delta, Fjord, & Ace There is definitely a scene waiting here for Dread when he gets back. Fjord is laying on his side, bleeding from wounds on his chest and stomach, his breathing labored and shallow. He's laying next to Delta, whose unconscious next to him, just holding one of his hands. Dread ...
And the two storylines finally converge. Dread arrives home to a grisly scene, and then once that’s dealt with he gets to finally hold his boyfriends again. For a little bit, at least.

Papyrus stormed out into the woods, breathing hard as he tried to contain the tears threatening to fall. He strode out, heedless of anything other than the intense pain he was in. His arms and hands were torn to bloody shreds, each cut throbbing with pain that was intended to relieve the tightness in his chest.
But nothing was working. Everything hurt and he wanted to scream.
That's why he was out here. That's why he was stomping down the path, past his new sentry station next to the Ruins. That's why he stomped across the small, rickety bridge over the gap in the path. That's why he stood outside the strange door that had been locked to the outside for longer than Papyrus had been alive.
The door was sturdy, practically impervious to damage. Or so he'd heard. People had been trying to bust down the door any way they could manage for a very long time. Obviously, no one had ever succeeded.
Good thing he wasn't trying to break down the door, then.
He summoned a wall of bones, and with a shout, launched them at the big, heavy thing. They clattered against it, the sound muffled by the heavy tree cover around him. He summoned more, hovering in the air this time, and launched them like Undyne's spears. These barely made contact with the door before he summoned more, and then more, and then more. He even summoned a couple of blasters to throw at the door. Each volley was accompanied with a shout or a grunt, steadily devolving into barely more than noise the more he threw at it.
After several moments of this routine, he paused to catch his breath. He wiped his brow, dragging drying blood across his sweaty skull.
In the quiet of the clearing, a voice suddenly called out.
"Knock knock."
Papyrus stood up straight, blinking and glancing around for the source of the voice. It was gentle, and sounded like it came from an older woman.
"You are supposed to ask 'who is there'," the voice prompted. Papyrus turned his attention to the door, suddenly worried about the possibility that he had been attacking a sentient door this entire time.
"...WHO'S THERE?" he asked warily.
"Boo."
"BOO WHO?"
"Why are you so upset?"
Papyrus hugged himself, suddenly acutely aware of the blood all over his arms. He made a noncommittal noise in response.
"I can tell from all the noise you have been making out there that you are a very upset skeleton. Perhaps talking about what is troubling you may help?"
"I-I..."
He let out a shaky breath, tears finally starting to fall down his face.
"TODAY IS... A-A REALLY ROUGH DAY FOR ME, TH-THAT'S ALL."
"I am very sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can do to help?"
Papyrus sniffled and shook his head.
"N-NO, B-BECAUSE NO M-MATTER WHAT I D-DO IT JUST... IT W-WON'T ST-STOP HURTING A-AND I D-DON'T WANNA INFLICT M-MY BAD MOOD ON ANYONE ELSE, S-SO..."
The person on the other side of the door fell silent for a long moment. Papyrus felt scared. Had he said too much? Had he scared her away by being that upfront about it? Not that it matters. He's beyond help anyway...
The door let out a big, creaky groan. Papyrus lifted his head with a sniffle.
Standing in the doorway was a very large goat monster in a somewhat tattered robe, carrying a tray with a kettle of tea and a slice of pie. She fixed Papyrus with a gentle smile and motioned for him to come closer.
He glanced from the tray to her face, and then to his torn up arms. Would she make a big deal about his self-inflicted injuries?
She silently beckoned him over, still giving him a gentle smile. With a final sniffle, he crossed the distance between them. She held the tray out for him.
"Here, have some. You look like you could use something warm."
Again his eyes darted from the spread in front of him to the smiling stranger holding it. She was so much bigger than he was, almost as big as Asgore. In fact she sort of looked like a smaller, less hairy version of him or something.
She must have picked up on the uncertainty in his gaze, because she gently nudged him with the tray in response.
"Go ahead. Take as much as you want."
Papyrus poured himself a cup of tea and took a long, quiet sip of the boiling hot liquid. He got maybe halfway through the cup before he broke down crying again, the pain in his chest returning with a vengeance.
The kindly old woman put down the tray and pulled him into a tight hug, gently rubbing his back and making soothing hushing sounds.
They stood like that for a long time. It was the most comfort he had ever received in his life. Or at least it felt that way.
"I-I'M S-SORRY..."
"It is alright, my child. Take all the time you need."
Papyrus nodded, burying his face against her chest. He still felt awful and terrible, but... this wasn't so bad.
