So, the stupid gets more stupid.

Apparently the garage-build jack job of a sub did not go down to maneuver around the wreckage on the bottom of the ocean 12,500 feet down. These guys actually WENT INSIDE THE SHIPWRECK.

Rear Adm. John Mauger, who is overseeing the search-and-rescue mission for the missing submarine, told reporters Monday that the Canadian Coast Guard has deployed multiple sonar buoys capable of detecting the submarine even at the bottom of the Atlantic. Mauger has also acknowledged that it is possible that the Titan might have gotten stuck in the 111-year-old wreckage of the Titanic lying 12,500 feet deep in the ocean.

The garage-built jack job of a company is now trying to blame the US government for stonewalling response when these garage-builders of jack-job subs did not communicate that they'd lost contact with the sub until eight hours later. They are trying desperately to insulate themselves from the well-deserved lawsuits that are going to result whether waiver or no waiver. I wonder if the governments involved with the rescue effort can bill the company for these efforts. When your emergency plan is 'blame Joe Biden the navy and the coasties' after NOT CALLING the navy and the coasties for EIGHT HOURS, your planning sucks and has just killed five people. I hope that company had a key-man policy in place and s shit-ton of liability insurance. The sub was not licensed, regulated, inspected or any goddamn thing you'd want to make sure of before putting your body in it.

Legally, it's in international waters. I could plunk my silly ass out there with a pool noodle, walkie-talkie, and a plastic astronaut helmet - but should I expect a hundred-million dollar search to get my silly ass out of the consequences for doing so?
