While on a walk with my dog I got a very close look at a harvester working the field. I think this is probably my favorite of the tractor/harvester photos I've taken.

African agriculture goes solarpunk!
As resource scarcity, and food insecurity intensify across the African continent, precision agriculture, powered by technologies like the Internet of Things, drones, GPS mapping, remote sensing, and AI, is rapidly transforming the way food is grown, monitored, and managed.
Femi Adekoya is a Nigerian agricultural professional who provides innovative technology solutions to farmers and advancing digital and precision agriculture across Africa.
He is the founder of Integrated Aerial Precision, a drone and data technology service provider for the agricultural industry. He also established Precision Field Academy, where he trains and educates professionals on emerging technologies, including UAVs (drones), GIS, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and other innovative technologies applied to agriculture.
“The only way to sustainably feed our growing population is for agriculture to embrace smart solutions,” he says.
An app designed for East African pastoralists that blends satellite data, indigenous knowledge, and community input—is helping pastoralists in Kenya to find pasture and water.
“Before we got AfriScout, we were losing a lot of animals,” says Omar Madera, a pastoralist in Samburu county in Kenya. “There were numerous conflicts due to a scramble for scarce water and pasture, but now our lives have changed. We can now figure out where to migrate next. We know precisely where fresh green pasture and water is to be found without coming into conflict with other herders.”
As climate pressures mount, African innovators are using digital tools to boost yields, track livestock, and bring precision agriculture to
Help a student with his survey!!
Hi, stop scrolling pls I only know like 3 of you on this app, but pretty please help me with this quick survey!!!
It would be so awesome if, like 20 people, could fill out this demographics sheet, as it helps me understand who is interested in my research study on climate change. Please ignore all the tags. I just really need more respondents, pretty please lol.
Last summer, I competed for #1 in State research studies for Environmental conservation, and was snubbed by a project revolving around using AI to detect climate disasters. Later that project year, I was elected Vice President of my district's Future Farmers of America for only 3 months. I had been removed for voicing my opinion on the crimes of the U.S. in alliance with the Zionist State of Israel, and this year I plan to center my conservation study around politics to prove that international conflict absolutely has a place in agricultural discussions.
It's incredibly important for all of those currently living in conservative states to see representation of their concerns at the state level, and it would help me immensely if y'all could fill out this super quick survey, whether you're in the States or anywhere else in the world.
P.S, There's a reading on the first section that's entirely optional, and perchance you shouldn't read it in case I forgot to remove my embarrassing spelling mistakes.
The current-day role our natural resources play in multi-party conflict is causing irreversible environmental damage and is an extreme self
The Skyscraper That Grows Your Food
In 2026, cities in Ukraine are redefining how food is produced.
Vertical farms inside office buildings now grow vegetables, herbs, and even berries just floors away from restaurants and consumers.
No long-distance logistics. No seasonal limitations.
AI-controlled environments regulate light, water, and nutrients, creating highly efficient and predictable growing conditions.
The result is ultra-fresh food, reduced waste, and a new model where cities produce what they consume.
But as urban farming scales, questions remain about energy use and accessibility.
The future of food is no longer rural — it’s urban.

It has been a heartwarming week, seeing seven captive Israeli "flowers" running into the arms of their ecstatic families, stating that they have been "born again". There has also been a religious flowering within many of the families of the hostages and among many previously secular IDF soldiers. The return of foreign workers to Israel has triggered an agricultural "flowering" in farms and kibbutzim. In the revitalized Israeli north, a new Strauss factory will produce milk products from plants, while Israel's Plantopia has switched from lettuce to sprouted oats for its source of milk proteins. In the medical arena, many immobile patients are flowering again, thanks to an Israeli startup that is opening up blocked blood vessels; while other Israeli startups have been restoring health to sufferers of strokes and rheumatoid arthritis. Israel's economy has certainly been flowering again, fueled by its technology ecosystem and investor confidence. And in the sunshine, the almond trees are in full flower a full three weeks before Tu Bishvat - the Jewish New Year for Trees. Finally, Yuval Raphael survived the Oct 7 Nova music festival and will flower again when she represents Israel at the next Eurovision Song Contest. The photo is of my orchid in full bloom again in the winter sunshine. We pray that most of the remaining hostages are still alive and will soon flower again in the Israeli sunshine.
