Of course, as Yako had expected, most of the people had come to the ball in boring pop culture costumes. There are a few Disney Characters, anime characters, some popular DnD stream characters, and some older, classic costume characters like Jack Skellington. Overall the costumes are pretty boring and uninspired. There are a few that are a little more eye-catching for Yako, such as Dakota dressed as Blind Mag from Repo! The Genetic Opera and some guy in a modernized plague doctor costume. Amber and Aislinn both look striking in their costumes. But besides that there’s just not much besides Ruyi in his cute little inmate costume to get excited about.
How depressing is a boring Halloween?
Then Yako’s eyes fall on someone else, a man she has seen before but never actually met. He’s dressed as...something. A bloody doctor, perhaps? It’s almost a good thing that she and Ruyi had agreed to go as inmate an prison guard, since Yako would have matched a little too closely with this stranger if she had come in her original costume idea: a bloody nurse. But she loves the way that he seems to be wearing little under his open and red-stained doctor’s coat besides tiny black shorts and fishnets. It’s almost funny how similar their boots are, though the man’s are taller and black while Yako’s are pink and laced with ribbon.
With the huge grin his costume puts on her face, Yako has to say something.
She strides over to the stranger, standing directly in front of him as she gives him a look up and down as if she hadn’t already inspected his costume from a distance.
“Wow, I really like your costume. Are you a doctor? I was almost a bloody nurse this year, how funny!” Though it sounds a bit like sarcasm, Yako speaks her true feelings. “I’m Chiori Yako, I don’t believe we’ve met...?”
