Quivering from the effort to stay upright and trying to downplay his agony, Mac kept his eyes on Tobias and ignored the other man coming around with a cell phone raised for pictures. “Alright, now I think you might be ready. Time to show off your manners.” Cutting Mac off before he could say anything Tobias added “ah ah ah! Remember, don’t fuck it up and you can go home tonight to that so-called dirty angel.”
Both men made faces of disgust and chuckled amongst themselves as they made sure the camera angle was set up right. Mac’s stomach burned while he waited, unsure if they’d even release him after. He reasoned they would, if only because it’d further embarrass the Taipan cắn, and he worried that embarrassment would cost him his life.
At least I die on that side I guess. LIke it could have been a few years ago. He struggled with the option of dying here but that’d still give Tobias and Salvador satisfaction.
There was no way out, he might as well try. Tobias motioned and Mac cleared his throat, “I don’t wanna die,” his voice was raspy from the shouting and the blood and dry from gasping and the gag. “Pl. Pl..hmmm…”
“Hmm?” Tobias moved closer, a bottle of water in his hand as he half crouched to stay out of the shot “what was that?”
Mac couldn’t do it. Wouldn’t. His eyes burned as he desperately wanted to live but couldn’t bring himself to beg and whine for their entertainment, not if he was gonna die either way. Instead he did the only thing he could do at that leering face and spat in it. He hated spitting but he had no other option, hoping the asshole would get mad and take things too far.
Standing with a disgusted look on his face, Tobias opened the bottle “What did we say about manners?” He took a mouthful and sprayed it over Mac who started to writhe in his rope immediately. “What’s the matter? I thought a dumb driver like you would love gas.”
Itching his skin and burning his cuts was nothing compared to the reaction the stench gave Mac. They were going to burn him alive and he was too panicked to do anything but desperately choke and chafe in the rope; too panicked to even have flashbacks to the carfire.
The match lit up Tobias’s sharp green eyes but the cruel beauty went unappreciated by Mac. “Now beg properly.”
As the match flew towards him Mac’s focus narrowed on it, “no no no no!” Before it even landed, the fumes caught light and blue rippled across his chest and down his back before turning orange as he screamed.
Heat dragged at his throat and pulled on his vocal cords as orange light filled his vision despite his squeezed shut eyes. The cotton shirt started to catch, spots of blazing agony peppering his back and chest as he choked on the rope in a desperate attempt to get away, screaming as the pressure released only to choke him again as he fought.
Tobias congratulated himself as he watched the man too stubborn to heel writhe in agony born mostly from fear. “Kinda cliche the beast is afraid of fire.” He drank in the ecstasy that was the half deranged begging as Mac barely managed to form coherent words around the choking and screaming.
“Stop!..Ahh! Please! PLEASE!” A powder choked him as he continued pleading and begging, each breath a wheeze or a whine from the heat and fear. “Please, not no no..” he coughed and wretched a moment as best he could around the rope but made sure to swallow whatever he brought up. “Salvador Pierce,” two words at a time were all he could manage between breaths “Salvador Pierce. Please. I wanna, I wanna live. Don’t wanna, not burn. Not fire.”
“Bravo!” Clapping his hands, Tobias waited for Mac’s red eyes to open, blinking against the sting of the fuel “nice job. But you had your chance for the easy way out, I want something more for my patience. What’s my name?”
