Y'all I am not ok after seeing &Julia again
The whiplash between Willemijn's Anne and April is crazy
Willemijn is such an incredible dramatic actress that you forget how funny she is, but then she's so funny that there's no preparing for the sheer gut punch of the serious moments in act 2. I'm gonna be honest I was ever so slightly skeptical of what she'd sound like as Anne because I know her as a powerhouse belter, but as soon as I Want it That Way started I was proven SO wrong. Guys there's no describing how amazing and versatile her voice is live. low-key wish I had recorded an audio
Willemijn's April has two braincells and they both want shots. She's so fucking funny, not just with her delivery but also her facial expressions, there's so much incredible physical acting. Also the way she glared at Romeo at the top of act two was top notch.
That's the Way it is broke me ngl. I knew it would be something special, but when she started crying during the second(?) verse I was done for. It was such a genuine moment and she put everything out there during that number. The acapella part was just unbelievable, she has such a rawness in her voice while still maintaining that smoothness, I can't get over it.
My seat was right in front of where Anne is during her and William's fight in the second act, and for a good 10-15 seconds Willemijn was making the most chilling eye contact with me, I cannot describe how much it shook me to the core. I honestly think (and hope) that that image will be burned into my memory forever
All in all such an incredible night, and I can't believe I have pictures of Willemijn in my camera (and good ones at that, not to toot my own horn), I'll definitely have to print a couple out just for myself
“ is that all for today?”
“ yeah, that’s it.” the young woman gives a polite smile, her hands reaching for her wallet as she grabbed a few bills to pay for her canned coffee and bag of doritos. setting the money on the counter, she hears a voice, almost hushed but clearly calling out to her. turning around, julia scans her surroundings, doing her best to seem subtle. her eyes stop at the person behind her, clearing her throat. “you weren’t calling me, right?” julia asks, her voice raspier when quiet.
