i'll try to keep this short as i don't feel like making a new carrd profile rn ! first and fore most : novel damon is wildly different from the show! ( from here on out i will refer to them as SD ( show damon ) and BD ( book damon ) to save my fingies. consider SD a more campy version of BD, where SD is more or less made to deliver a punch line nine times out of ten SD is far more dry and calculated with his humour. He's witty but in a refined way. his speech pattern lines up more with someone who grew up in 1400 florance italy vs someone who doom scrolls all day. it's unusual for BD to use common curse words never mind common slang. BD is far more openly cruel and villainous, he's manipulative without apology, he is flirty but in a far darker predatory vs prey way, the way you might imagine a vampire who's spent over five centuries on earth would flirt with it's main source of food. His love is more obsessive and possessive and we very rarely see moments of his softer more compassionate side. BD is much more of a true antagonist vs SD. second : BD has a vast majority of powers and abilities that the show unfortunately snuffed out ( i understand production cost and the like ) as such i have linked damons current powers and abilities in the important segment above! third : damon is canonically 500+ years old having been born in florance italy during the renaissance in the late 1400's and sequentially turned by katherine von schwartzchild along with his brother stefan. fourth : if you know me you know my activity is very wonky so please expect nothing less here , if you don't know me, hi i swear i write it just comes in waves fifth : i will not be prioritizing shipping with damon as of this moment. in the past writing damon has been deeply dissatisfying simply based on the amount of people seeking only romantic / sexual relationships. i'm not against developing those but please don't come for them exclusively. ( close friends and familiar writing partners are exempt from this rule ) i'm very keen on writing antagonistic relationships as well as platonic which honestly can be so much more satisfying to write and allow me to develop him more as a three dimensional character instead of ship fodder. he will more than likely flirt with your muse but please do not take that as an inclination that i am ship chasing. in a moment you will read about my focus ship and i ask you please respect that. i will warn you now i am a massive de.lena shipper and that will become evident if you spend more than two seconds on this blog. i have no issue exploring other ships should the chemistry between mun and muse jive but please do not attempt to create a wedge between me and my friends. it simply won't happen. any attempt at this will result in a hard block as will any policing of ships. if you are not a fan of / are vehemently against d.elena i suggest you move on, this is not the blog for you <3 i do not participate in writing smut as it makes my husband uncomfortable ( valid i would feel weird if he were writing smut on the internet as well ). any hot and heavy moments will fade to black HOWEVER i am more than happy to write kissing, touching, body pressing just not the actual deed! on top of that im rather faithful to L.J.'s lore in that vampires can not actually do the deed which clears up that whole mess nicely ( unless you're a certain reincarnated angel with the aura equivalent to vampire viagra )
