super silly post but sometimes i’ll go back and make a “recipe” i came across when i was learning to cook for myself and it’s so nice actually. recipe in quotes bc i’m talking about the really simple ones—in this case, a vice munchies recipe for a roasted sweet potato with miso wasabi butter and sesame seeds. it’s literally just that. mix equal parts butter and miso with a much smaller amount of wasabi, put on sweet potato, top w sesame seeds and green onions.

anyway point of this is i didn’t think about compound butters ever before this recipe. i didn’t even really realize miso was okay to eat raw. silly little things in hindsight that really helped me get a sense for cooking! so yay for basic recipes and yay for gaining confidence in modifying or working without recipes. i still don’t think i have a great sense for like. complex flavor profiles? but learning is neat :-)

also this is a killer snacky-meal or side, just for what it’s worth.
