61. going with them to the doctor / therapist 

             for some time, oliver had been UNCERTAIN of telling nita about his mental issues. actually, he was uncertain of mentioning it at all for the mere fact that he didn’t want to come off as UNSTABLE. of course, nita already knew he was unstable, so it probably didn’t MATTER to begin with. however, when he finally told her, he’d found himself TRUSTING her for the matter that perhaps, for once in his life, he wouldn’t have to go about it a l o n e. she’d been SURPRISINGLY supportive and he decided that maybe asking her to go with him to his psychiatrist, because lately, he’s been A V O I D I N G going ( which he knows he shouldn’t be missing any, but he hasn’t been in a good place as of late ). 

when they walked through the doors, oliver turned to the young woman with a small smile, wiping at his pants with SWEATY PALMS. “ t-thank you... for... y-you know... c-coming with me... ” he was SO MUCH MORE grateful than she probably knew.

            at first, oliver isn’t sure HOW to respond. affection really isn’t something he’s used to, especially not when it’s aimed towards HIM. he was getting better at giving it, but receiving it still took some time. so when she leans in and KISSES his forehead, his reaction may come off a little negatively as he jumps back in SURPRISE, blue eyes wide. however, when he realizes what he’d done and that she’d meant him NO HARM, he breathes out slowly and smiles, ducking his head in mild embarrassment. “ s-sorry... y-you surprised me. ” affection was so hard for him, but he FELT like he was getting better. piece by piece, right?

         oliver eyed nita carefully, chewing NERVOUSLY on his fingernails. “ y-you didn’t have to do t-this you k-know... ” he never felt FULLY comfortable letting anyone make him anything to begin with and she was making him DINNER ; no one’s really done that for him before and he isn’t sure how to respond. while she’s cooking, she offers him a TASTE and he kind of stands there, staring at her with his wide blue eyes ; unsure of how to react. he’s NEW to this kind of attention and it’s probably more than obvious by now. tentatively, oliver ACCEPTS the offer and licks his lips with a hum of approval. despite the fact that this is NEW to him, he decides fairly quickly that he likes it.
