found this and it was just too cute not to headcanon about so here goes! 

sarah rogers and winnie barnes made that cake for little steve’s third birthday. his birthday always received quite a big celebration because it was joined by independence day festivities, (things changed during the great depression but that’s another story). 

anyway, that’s steve sitting at the head of the table with his party hat, and bucky’s on his left being the big man and making sure everything runs accordingly. (he’s telling freddie there to sit his bum down so steve can blow the candles already), and that’s winnie barnes behind them trying to be nicer to freddie than her son is. 

sarah is taking the photo, and the other children are friends from around the neighbourhood.
