Happy Father’s Day Michael

Today is June 17th, and much like this day in the past, you’ve always been there for me, even when I told you not to. You took care of me, no matter how much I pushed you away, but most of all, you always picked me back up when I feel down, especially when I just wanted to wallow in it. You’ve been the best parent anyone could ever ask for, and I love you.  You deserve to be appreciated much more than you are, and I’m absolutely honored to get to be a part of your life. Ever since the day we met by chance, you took care of me, even when I betrayed you, you looked past it, and one day when you’re old and weak, I’ll be the one protecting you. When I was little, you always put the band aids I liked best on my scraped knees; you took me under your wing, despite me being 5 years old. You helped me grow as a person, and yeah, maybe you’ve been a little over protective at times but I’ll always appreciate the thought.  I appreciate everything you do, even though sometimes I’m a little shit. I appreciate everything from you texting me to check up on me, to you inviting me to live in the goth house. You’re too good for this world, and you don’t even seem to realize this. I’m probably going to be posting this late, because conformist holidays are dumb, but I love you Dad, and I’m just really glad you’re in my life.
