Getting himself captured never failed to feel like one of Ghost’s biggest possible failures. There wasn’t much, apart from betrayal, that upset Mingyu more than not being good enough. He absolutely loathed being overpowered. He resented not being fast enough, or strong enough, to escape sticky situations. He always liked to believe that he would come out on top, and be the one that was victorious, but alas, that was not always possible. He hated letting down all of Vanguard and putting himself into more trouble than would have been necessary, but at the same exact time, there was never a moment in which he thought that he would not escape. No, Kim Mingyu always knew that he’d get out of situations alive, no enemy could keep his contained for long. Well, okay, maybe that was a lie. Maybe they could keep him for long, but they certainly weren’t going to keep him forever, that much he could promise. Though he knew that he’d most definitely escape his captors one way or another, he never actually expected to be rescued...
Mingyu slightly leaned forward, his busted lip pulsing and his head pounding behind his eyes. He let out a quiet groan as the damned light bulb continued to flicker. He wished he could tear it down by its cord just to stop the blinking and the repetitive, faint noises that were driving him insane. As if he wasn’t in enough pain, that was only adding to his distress. The man that’d been previously beating him walked around the small room, obviously with something else playing on his mind. Evidently he’d beaten Kim Mingyu, or Ghost, as he knew him, enough and now he was just wasting time until he received further orders on what to do. It was clear he hadn’t been the one in charge since the hitman could tell he wasn’t the most intelligent, anyways. This guy was nothing but brawn.
Just as the boy heard a noise and began looking towards the entrance, his vision was stripped from him as the sounds of shattering glass filled his ears, realizing that the light had been destroyed. He knew that it didn’t explode on its own because he also heard the louder ‘clank’ of another unknown metallic object hitting the floor. He was now completely alert, despite the fact that he’d been lost in thought only moments earlier. His guard was up as he squinted, doing his best to see what he could in the dark. It wasn’t long after this, however, that he heard the noise of a body colliding with another, and the sound of a loud thump as what he assumed was his captor hit the ground. His eyes beginning to adjust, he noticed a figure then quickly approach him. “S.Coups?” he questioned, just as his restraints were being cut. It was then that he felt the handle of the knife being pressed against his palm, and if it hadn’t been pitch-black in the room, the younger boy would have seen a small smile form on his lips. “Ah, shut up,” he responded through his grin as he neared the idiot that had been beating him. He jerked the guy up by his collar before repeatedly stabbing him in the stomach, his eyes wide and full of terror as Ghost watched, blood spilling from his lips, and grunts being made each time the blade ripped through his torso.
