lax limbs and post-coital bliss makes for dangerous pillow-talk, but they’ve always had a penchant for playing with fire, haven’t they?  isaac starts to laugh, a comeback already on the tip of his tongue about how he hadn’t been that good between the sheets, but it dies the minute he rolls onto his side and sees jake.  it sobers him up like a bucket of water to the face.  jake looks serious.

it’s a sight to behold, as rare as it is terrifying.  he wants to smile – wants to laugh it off, waiting for his older brother’s best friend to crack a grin and tell him ‘i really got you – you should’ve seen your face’.  time keeps passing.  the moment doesn’t come.  panicked butterflies begin climbing up his throat, and vaguely, isaac has enough sense to know it isn’t normal for them to hurt.

it’s a small price to pay for the warmth of the body beside him, but he knew exactly what he was signing up for when he wrote his name on that dotted line and chose this path.

at least… he thought he did.
