alchemy for runa, beauty for all, halfling for pallia, and reading for berna
Alchemy: Which ingredients do they most often collect and how successful is their potion brewing?
Runa doesn’t really collect ingredients, she buys them from other College members or specifik merchants who collect rare and common ingredients for the mages of the College. She doesn’t want to leave the college and she doesn’t have to. As for Alchemy, she’s decent. Not great, but okay.
Beauty: How dose your character tend to their appearance? Do they wear any special armor or clothing during their day to day activities?
Runa doesn’t think she puts a lot of time into her appearance but she does. She generally puts time away every morning to brush her hair, wash herself properly and just in general make sure her appearance is presentable and smart, including making sure her robes are clean and whole. She takes pride in being a member of the college and her robes are like a badge of office so she takes good care of them. She wants to be taken seriously and firmly believes that looks have a large part in first impressions, her upbringing as a noble may have something to do with it. Who is going to think that a mage with tired rings beneath eyes that has a crazed look in them, potion-stained robes and messy hair can be trusted when they can’t even take care of their own appearance? Pallia makes sure to bathe once in a while, brushes her hair a few times a week, gets her clothes cleaned every so often. But she doesn’t worry about looking scruffy or improper. If her comb goes missing and she doesn’t have opportunity to bathe for a few weeks, she won’t worry about it too much. The main reason she keeps herself clean is because she’s been told you’re less likely to attract diseases, and blood gets nasty after a while. As a general rule, she wears the Dawnguard armor, and when not she wears pretty simple tunics, pants and the Dawnguard boots.
Berna is terrible at tending to her looks. She hardly ever bathes, only washes her face and hands and maybe armpits if she can, but she still generally looks pretty filthy. Her hair is pretty much always scraggly and slightly matted, darker than it actually is because it so rarely gets washed. She only combs her fingers through it sometimes but doesn’t brush it. She also tends to keep it short by cutting it with a knife, which makes the ends horrible and rather uneven. However, it isn’t like she doesn’t want to tend to her looks, it’s mainly that she doesn’t have the means or opportunity to do it properly.
Halfling: How do they view half-breeds?
Pallia doesn’t really care, if she even notices.
As (according to the lore) half-breeds are generally pretty hard to spot as they almost always take after their mother’s race and only have faint hints of the father, I don’t think Pallia would notice someone is a half-breed unless they tell her.In which case she would probably reply; “And...why do I need to know this?”If her traveling companion is a half-breed Bosmer/human but has taken the appearance of their Bosmer mother, what does it matter? Are they an annoying ass? That matters! Are they going to rob me blind in my sleep or heal me when I’m wounded? Those are things that matters to Pallia, not who your parents are.
Reading: Can your muse read, if they then what’s their favorite book?
Berna is like 95% illiterate. She can read a few words and she can write her own name, though her handwriting is atrocious. But if you put a letter in front of her, she’s more than likely going to be unable to read it. She doesn’t have a favorite book either.
