Seeing as the ten year anniversary of me creating these kids is coming up soon, I thought I’d make a thing of all of them and reintroduce them!

These are my OCs Danma, Kaname and Kichiro; the children of Senju Hashirama and Uzumaki Mito. I created them back in 2015 when I was roleplaying Mito here in tumblr, and I wanted to make some headcanons for her and Hashirama’s children. They ended up being very well received, and I tried writing as them a few times and before I knew it I had made a separate blog only for them. Mito’s blog have not endured the test of time, but give or take a few hiatuses, I have kept writing these kids since the summer of 2015.

They have changed and evolved, through trials and error, both Danma and Kaname went through name changes, and they are still in constant development.

But I love them, and I hope others do too 💕

Senju Danma

Hashirama and Mito’s firstborn and oldest son. Born eight years before the death of Uchiha Izuna, Danma grew up on his father’s dreams and optimism for the future. Hashirama promised his children many things, especially the unprecedented happiness and peace he told them they would get when he build his village. And they believed him. Danma especially, who looked up to his father more than anyone, even when he fought to try and even begin to live up to his legendary status. Still, as Uchiha Madara finally agreed to peace, and Hashirama got to build his village, things didn’t go as he had hoped. Hashirama failed to fulfill his promises, and he prioritized the village at every turn even over his own family and children. The situation that followed of his sister, his father’s neglect and broken promises to his children left Danma disillusioned, and his relationship with his father grew from reverence, to resentment. In spite of this, he would be among the first graduates of the shinobi academy, and grow up into a skilled and dangerous shinobi in his own right. In adulthood, he would have two children, Tsunade and Nawaki, by two different mothers. His relationship with Hashirama would remain strained, and more so as his father passed on bad habits to Tsunade when Danma was not around.

In personality, Danma is family oriented, outgoing, charismatic and unafraid of taking action, but with a dark temper in the face of injustices.

Senju Kaname

The second born child and only daughter. She’s a year younger than Danma. Born with a rare genetic mutation that allows her to be attuned to her chakra, but not alter its nature, which is one of the two essential components of creating Ninjutsu. Due to this condition, she trained and became highly proficient with Kenjustu, taijutsu and advanced chakra channeling techniques. When Konoha was founded, and the new shinobi academy followed shortly after, she was in a humiliating event involving her own uncle refused training due to her condition and forced into civilian life. For years she would struggle with her position between the shinobi life she had been raised for and trained so hard to succeed in, and the civilian life she was now supposed to settle for. She was unable to take root to the place her father had tried to plant his family in, where he had promised they would be happy, and she grew to resent it and never seeing it as her home.

As a young adult, Kaname is an outwardly generous and social, sensual, hardworking and passionate woman, but who still struggles with periods of depression and low self-worth, and a stubborn and spiteful inability to forget or forgive a slight.

Senju Kichiro

Hashirama and Mito’s third and final child, and second son. He was the only one of the three to be born in Konoha, not long after the death of Uchiha Madara, ten years younger than his older sister. He’s perhaps the most peculiar of the three as psuedo-jinchuriki. From birth, his own chakra was deeply entangled with that of the Kyubi, and it made him the strongest of three. Though he held little actual fondness for people, he was loyal, and the only one of his siblings who tried to honor his father’s dream. At the age of sixteen he was accepted into the Anbu, where he excelled. But it was a short lived career, as he was the victim of an assassination just a year later.

Kichiro is loyal, resilient and stoic, with a vicious and violent anger when pushed too far. While he have never been personable or social, cares very deeply for his family.

With winter life retreats, recovers and gatherers strength.

With spring the cycle starts again.

Kaname, and her brother Danma. Bloody and bruised, but alive. She wants to stay that way for another year.

Tsunade’s mother is a character I’ve battled with for years, but what never really changes is that I HC her as having been a (non shinobi) mercenary who Danma met in the Land of Stone and had a brief whirlwind romance with but never married and didn’t have a part in raising Tsunade. Early on she died, but in more recent days I’m leaning more towards her not being quite as keen on being a mother as Danma was to being a father and gave him the opportunity to take the baby if he wanted it.

She carried her, gave birth to her, made everyone question if Danma was actually the father by pushing the genetics of all of his physical traits aside, but did not raise her.

The woman Danma later married, Kaede, ended up being much more of an actual mother to Tsunade (and the birth mother of Nawaki).

Kaname just physically and verbally assaulting and threatening Konoha’s golden boy in the middle of the village

I’m sure it was in no way warranted and that she deserves the bullshit that followed when his dad got upset -_-
