the school year’s over and I’m finally back from my hiatus!
y’know, I could have gone the easy route with this but I decided to use up two days just to make sure nobody was singing two different parts at the same time (except for Asriel’s bridge solo)
tbh I’m not actually sure if this would count as an UTAUtale chorus because it’s originally only two singers but I’ll call it one anyway. just to let you know, Sans and Alphys’ voices are leaning toward the left channel, and Gaster and Asriel’s voices are leaning toward the right channel
this is probably weird without context, so it’ll be under the cut if you’re confused/interested. if you guys need a transcript for who’s singing what, I can post one separately
ust: NeeMiSo
while I was listening to this song, I thought of an AU where Alphys, Sans, and Gaster tried to create an artificial monster without using the soul of a human or a monster that already existed. in this AU, Asriel was never really “born,” he was just the artificial monster Alphys built for the experiment and they named him “Asriel” by combining the king and queen’s names
I’m probably breaking canon with this and everyone’s gonna yell at me about how wrong this probably is but?? because Asriel was soulless to begin with, he didn’t really have emotions nor did he really understand them, but he did understand logical stuff. basically Alphys, Sans, and Gaster were trying to make an artificial monster soul for him so he could feel things but they never finished it and they ended up leaving Asriel by himself in the process
and then Asriel finds the soul they were working on and he absorbs it and feels things but the soul is too much and it’s literally Kokoro and that’s why I did this
I had some sad thoughts about this AU okay I had a whole scenario in my head involving Asriel and Sans that I really want to write out into a minific or draw it or something,,
so I fixed the last sample of the CORE Append and this is how the whole vb turned out. there might be some parts that are rushing a little bit but other than that everything else already fell into place without me having to edit the vocals in Audacity, so I didn’t think the rushing parts were much of a problem
here it is, my new Gaster vb! this one uses 5 of the 7 samples that are in his UTAU folder (one sounded too similar to another, and the other didn’t even come out right and I’m going to try to fix that one), and I named all of the sounds vowels. the ‘e’ sound is the most noticeable in notes with vibrato, you’ll know it when you hear it
they care about Sans so much and all they want is for him to be happy
what a miracle, I didn’t have to edit the vocals at all. I hope you don’t mind that this is the Project Diva version of the song, I couldn’t find a ust for the full version. also this was the only instrumental I could find of this song, and I feel like it sounds a little distorted during some parts?? if it’s just meant to be like that, then never mind
did I mention I also really like songs by AgoAniki
really long explanation for this past the cut
so about two months ago I made an Undertale lyric comic to this song because I love this song so much (it’s still not colored and idk if I even want to put it on my art blog). it’s kinda hard to explain in it’s entirety but it takes place pre-Flowey and post-Gaster’s accident and basically Sans wants to commit suicide and Papyrus and Undyne stop him before he can
and that’s also the reason why Gaster gets the harmony for this one
also I don’t need to credit anyone for the usts because I made these ones! it sounds kinda weird but that’s bc I didn’t put any vibrato or anything like that (if I do have time one day, I’ll add them in), so it’s just raw notes atm. this is my first ust, hope you don’t judge it too hard
also it took me literally an hour to find an instrumental of this
(please use headphones to hear all of the voices properly!)
this took longer than I thought it would actually
so I kinda had to separate a few of the voices (two of them are leaning toward the left headphone and another two are leaning on the right. Sans is just smack-dab unedited in the middle) so that it would a little bit easier to hear all of them. I guess Chara and Asriel’s voices mixed together too well so it just sounds like one voice when they’re singing together, but you’ll know when it differs
