(helpful-yellow-inkling, bday starter!) Today is October 8th, which is the bday of both Eika and Eimie. With the two gifts in his grasp, Jesse went ahead and visited the two of them. Of course, he and Eika hang out with each all the time now. However, he and Eimie haven’t seen each other in a while, which made things more exciting for him. He gently knocks on the door and awaits what comes ahead.
Inside the house, a loud excited voice was cheering, while a calmer soft voice followed. As soon as Jesse knocked, the voices went silent. Not even a second later, the door opened.
"Ooooh! Jesse! Yay!!" Eika cheers excited. Her eyes immediately focused on the gifts. "Oooh! Eim! C'mon! Jesse's here!"
Eika hugged Jesse and giggled. Just then, Eimie saw the happy couple. "Heh.. Hey! What's up! Long time no see."
In just another regular day of spring, Eika would usually text Jesse a good morning message, along with a selfie or a picture of the view outside her window or her breakfast. Today was different, as Eika didn't text Jesse for the first time ever since they started dating. Something was up.

Once again, Eika had slept over at Jesse’s place. After being a couple for a couple months, it was common for each squid to spend the night at the other’s house, either watching a movie, cooking together (Eika’s skills are improving!), or just spending time together.
This morning, Eika woke up next to Jesse. The warm spring sun was shining through the window, directly into Eika’s eyes. She mumbled as she slowly brought the blankets up to cover her head.

Just like every week, Eika and Jesse share a movie night together at Jesse’s place, but this time, they were re-watching the movie they saw back when Eika confessed her feelings to Jesse. Usually, Eika falls asleep nearly by the end of the movie, letting out a cute purr as she finds warmth and comfort in Jesse’s embrace.
This time around, the morning of November 13th was one that Eika would not forget. With the sun shining through the window, Jesse was able to wake up first to notice a peaceful Eika snuggling and cuddling him.
“Mornin’ sleepyhead~”
The yellow inkling whispered to the small purple squid, which in turn, opened her eyes to met with his.
“Hewwo~”!
Jesse’s warm smile was enough to melt Eika’s heart. Just a perfect way to wake up. Eika blinked a few times before reaching for a peck on Jesse’s cheek.
“Just a day like this, 1 year ago, I remember complimenting your pretty face! It took me like an eternity, but I managed to say it!” Eika still blushes from her silly attempt at confessing, but luckily, it turned into a year-long relationship.
Jesse in turn, hugged Eika and kissed her forehead. “That was pretty brave of ya! I’m grateful to have ya ‘round to this day!”
Eika grinned and embraced Jesse back, just enjoying the silence of their early hours of the day. “I... I just wanna stay here cuddling forever..! I know we can’t do that, but your hugs give me so much comfort, Jesse!” Eika was so full of happiness for this day, but Jesse had something planned a trip to somewhere special, they had to get up!
~That evening~
Jesse had taken Eika to a lake just on the outskirts of Inkopolis. After a whole day together at the ice cream place, Eika’s favourite shrimp restaurant and a nice walk at the park, the night was just about to get even cuter!
“I will cover yer pretty eyes, okay?” Jesse asked first. Eika nodded and guided Jesse’s hands to her own eyes. Surprises were so exciting, and Eika was doing a small skip step dance with her feet, she couldn’t contain her happiness for long.
Jesse then let Eika see, the huge reflection of a bright moon right on the lake. Along with that, Jesse was also holding a bouquet behind his back. He slowly walked in front of Eika, presenting the bouquet gift.
Eika admired the flowers as she held the bouquet close to her. Her eyes slightly forming a few tears of happiness. “J-Jesse... this flowers... the pretty lake and the bright moon..! This is simply the best day ever..!!” Eika was trying her best to contain her tears, she was about to burst of happiness.
Jesse approached Eika and held her hands. “Y’know, yer smile is brighter right now! You’re such a pretty ray of sunshine!”
Eika couldn’t hold it anymore! “I.. I love you, Jesse!!” She glomped him, planting a soft kiss on his lips. Jesse caught both Eika and the tender smooch. As both squids lovingly embraced, both their yellow and purple tentacles glowed through the night. Eika’s already long tentacles embraced Jesse as well, now she was sure to never let go!
Both squids enjoyed the silence of the lonely lake and admired the moonlight reflection. After an hour of spending their night together, both inklings got up and walked back home, just to watch their favourite move once again!
