Here he was wandering- almost alone- through the strange place that was Tartarus. The Dark Hour hadn’t been present in his life for very long and the group decided they needed to figure out more about the abnormality. Regardless of how dangerous it was, Junpei would’ve preferred that he was able to go off by himself.

But instead he got placed with their new leader.

Anyone but this person could have filled the position of leader and Junpei would have been fine with it. But this girl was a total stranger and seemed far too soft to actually do any leader. He had known Yukari for years- even if she was a girl she was at least had a tough personality. Then there was Mitsuru-senpai who was terrifying although he wasn’t so sure about trusting her and Akihiko-senpai was far too impulsive. Of course that impulsiveness was why Junpei couldn’t lead either.

“Alright, let’s just get this over with, then.”

“If the bugs could speak to others I      wonder what people might think.      They’re lucky they have me to       understand them!”

Soft, golden pigtails bounced as the young girl bounded down the pathway of a small village as she looked for someone to help her. Agitha was unaware of the area yet the small emerald bug in her palm had told her to find some sort of fruit in the forest- or so she thought. The insect could be speaking of a true fruit or perhaps an imaginative one. Whichever it was, Agitha believed the small creature.

“Excuse me, sir, could you maybe help      me with this little bug’s request?”

Everyone had left the dorm or had never come home in the first place. The girls had stayed after school for clubs and activities like that and Ken was out walking Koromaru. With even the dog not around he was unsure of what to do with himself. Akihiko was around but if he went to him the older might make him work out or drink some disgusting protein shake.

But he was so bored... And that boredom drove him to lay on the couch with his arms stretched above his head to drape over the arm of the chair. He sat in a tank top and jeans and he had pulled his hat to cover his face. Maybe he would doze off here for a bit.

“Man... Nothing happens on Thursdays.”

Why was he always dragged out on his quiet days? He had decided to close up his visiting services after no one had really come to his door for quite some time. But of course that had to be when his cell phone rang from a rather bored informant who wanted to get out for something to eat. On a regular day he would’ve rejected the idea immediately but it turned out the doctor had nothing to do with Celty not around on account of her work.

With his lab coat pulled over himself he set out for the small cafe where they had agreed to meet. It would be a bit longer for Izaya to come than for Shinra but that had been the agreement seeing as though Shinra was unwilling to go too far from home. He was rather attached to the area.

Naturally he had gotten there a bit earlier than the other and he took a seat by the window. Izaya liked to watch people, right? This would be the perfect place for such a short attention span that his old friend held.

“Damn... I definitely should’ve       left the house earlier- I forgot     to pick up that medicine at the store.”

     These people were all so strange... They all looked exactly the same to him and not once did he find one that interested him in the slightest. Most found it hard to pass by Samekichi without a strange looked directed to him but that was to be expected when you were the only one with a tail wandering down a road. 

“How do I even get back to the ocean from here...”

     He was just glad it was fairly late into the evening so not too many people would be out and about. Although that did mean Wadanohara might start worrying about where her shark familiar had gone off to.

     Now this... This was a bit of a predicament. It was something that had crossed his mind as a possibility before but never did he think it would actually happen to him.

     With the increase in nighttime patients that he had to go visit and treat quickly and quietly as possible Shinra had witnessed quite a few shady people and even shadier activities. Normally he’d turn a blind eye even if involve a murder he knew would pop up on the news the next day. None of this was his business- he had to stay on the good side of the Yakuza and other gangs in the city.

     Yet here he was on the wrong side of the gun as he was held against the wall and the weapon pointed in his face. Eyes full of malice stared a the doctor playfully before requesting that he bring them to his place and right them a nice big check or better yet- give them all cash.

“Stop waving that in my face and maybe I could help you...”

      It was a simple comment but as the man’s smile turned to a frown accompanied by a cold glare the doctor soon realized he had made quite the mistake.

     A hot and sunny day had kept Shinra indoors as he kept his center air conditioner flowing through the apartment. With him keeping cool he couldn't help but wonder if anyone would be brought in from heat exhaustion. It had happened over the last summer that got this hot so there was no reason it couldn't happen again.

    As for now he had a patient that came in for a few stitches to his arm after being stabbed in a fight in the early morning. It had only taken a few moment to stitch it although disinfecting had taken a bit longer. However, the man was all fixed up and being ushered out the door.

    The doctor returned to his kitchen once the gang member had been kicked back to the streets. Looking for the tea that he longed for since the man arrived it was soon discovered that only an empty box was left in the cabinet. A heavy sigh came from Shinra as he hung his head with his hands gripping the knobs of the cupboard in defeat.

"I guess I'll have to go out a buy some then..."

    He hung his lab coat on the coat hanger- it was far too hot outside to take this with him- and made way for the door. Once he was in the hall way he locked the door and descended the stairs to come out to the sidewalk where a young girl stood all by herself.

"Akane? What are you doing here?"

     The Russian Sushi shop had to be one of the most talked about attractions in all of Ikebukuro. While Shinra knew the people working there on a certain level he still didn't exactly qualify for a discount at the restaurant. Regardless they had great food and it would be just enough to get himself going for the rest of the day... Maybe he'd bring some home for later.

     As the man brought him the sushi he ordered almost immediately after him ordering it Shinra gave a genuine smile and a polite thank you. It hadn't been long before a young woman walked into the shop as well. Her long blonde hair and green eyes told Shinra that she couldn't be Japanese... Not with that complexion either.

     He wasn't one to bother other people when he had no reason to so Shinra simply kept to him at the bar of the shop with his plate of sushi. The Russian at the counter would offer him a drink although he'd refuse- if he had even a little too much he just might be unable to help anyone if there's an emergency.
