son of a courtesan and a duke, ended up being raised as a bastard.
killed his own father by getting work in his house as a servant. around twelve at this time.
gets in league with magic-users, and proves himself useful as an informant for the scummy side of cities.
acts as a recruiter for them too, hangs out at a roadside tavern and tells stories to the merchants and soldiers who stop by... and hears stories of his own, so when they tell of magic it gets investigated.
no qualms about crossdressing and infiltrating to get what he wants. he’s been ‘killed’ so many times that he has separate identities.

yall might think slytherin but NO this boy’s a ravenclaw to the bone-- a lot of his friends are in slytherin, though.
makes friendly with the potions professor, pores through the books; he’s studious and takes his work seriously, and never turns in anything under e quality.
his patronus is a red tailed hawk; he has a hard time summoning it but when he can? it’s extremely strong.
his wand is ash, 10 1/2 inches, dragon heartstring, unyielding.
his pet is a cat. he loves it very much, but it goes after owls in the owlery.
20's mobster au!

classy mob hitman. poisons people, per usual.
he’s younger here. his parents are both into the mob, firmly entrenched, and both hold respectable positions. he learned how to play dumb early.
he learned how to kill early, too. he first killed a man when he was ten; he put bleach in his drink once he was totally plastered, because he saw a gun in his pocket and knew he was there to target ghoul’s parents; if he told them, it would cause a fuss. so he took care of it.
his parents did get the muzzle end of a gun in a police raid. ghoul, thirteen at the time, hid under a table until the police left, and then he fled.
he ran straight to the mob higher-ups, who took him under their wing and groomed him to be their assassin, due to his cute looks, good breeding, and incredible nasty streak-- and his loyalty.
Generic Shoujo Anime AU

generic first-season enemy... the Heroes find him selling drugs to make people into zombies so he can make the City devolve into chaos, soundly thrash him, and destroy his drugs, Save The City, and move on to the big bad.
returns in season two New and Improved and a little more badass than before and in league with davis dusk, Generic Shoujo Element Controller, but gets beaten again... because davis betrays him at the last minute, and it’s revealed that ghoul was mind-controlling him. ghoul is presumed dead and buried. (with such last words as “i thought we were friends”, to which davis finishes him off as the Heroes watch in shock)
except he WASN’T, and when dusk was revealed to have been lying to save his own skin, the Heroes are like wtf and then continue on. next season Main Guy worries that he’s manipulating his Traveling Party to stay with him, gets flashbacks to the close relationship dusk and ghoul had-- joking together, coming to each other’s aid, and then how easily dusk betrayed him. leads to an arc resolving the ‘i think my friends don’t actually care about me’ issue.
he can be felt throughout the rest of the season-- mentions to him, his drugs, little bits of his backstory revealed. the Heroes find out they’re not much older than he is. and the Main Guy has the big ‘we aren’t all that different, his mistake was that he took the path of villainy and paid for it’ speech+flashback and he and his Traveling Party somberly nod.
last season, near the finale, lightning strikes his grave and he’s reanimated. claws his way out of his own grave. Heroes have to stop him and redeem his soul so he can move on. two-parter, first one him causing chaos and killing dusk, immune to the lightning-- the heroes beat him down, and there’s the tearful confession+flashbacks of ghoul having a shitty home life and just wanting things to go right this once, wanting friends. anyways he dies for good.
