Gisla called Jeyne “my baby” when she was little. She didn’t, and still doesn’t blame Jeyne for the death of their mother.
Gisla would carry Jeyne out to where ever she was playing, interacting with her as if they were playing when baby Jeyne would most likely be asleep in her cradle.
Gisla read to Jeyne all the time when they were younger. Gisla told Jeyne stories of their mother, even though most of them Gisla made up because she could barely remember her herself.
Westeros Verse
When Gisla discovered she was with child her first thought was her sister. In turn, finding out she was with child acted as a catalyst for her to find her sister.
For a time Gisla let her father play with the idea of marrying her to Robb Stark because she knew Jeyne would enjoy the idea of being even more of a sister to Sansa Stark.
Gisla tried to avoid being married so she could stay taking care of her father’s house and acting as maternal figure for Jeyne.
Modern verse
Rollo gets “punished” by having to take care of Jeyne partly cause Gisla likes them being in the same spot; easier to keep tabs on them.
Gisla was more concerned about Jeyne liking Rollo than her father.
Gisla was more likely to embarrass Jeyne in school than being worried about her little sister embarrassing her. She particularly liked mothering her in front of her friends if she had been annoying that morning at home.
