Nimble paws landed on a rooftop, light ash brown fur glimmered in the sunlight that washed over the sleek body, and the agile fox posed there for a moment, his two tails arching over his back and winding softly around in the breeze. His ears twitched as he heard a faint call of his name and Louis padded over to the edge of the roof before jumping his way down and into the nearest window.
Once inside his personal room, Louis shed his fox form. His entire figure shimmered and seemed to blur as he headed for his door where someone had knocked once more and called his name again. When he reached out to open the door, Louis was in a human form, his light ash brown fur now long locks of hair that fell in waves around his face. Behind his back his tails hovered just above the floor. The long robes that now adorned his form seemed to float instead of hanging on him and he smiled politely at the handmaid that stood on the other side of the door, waiting to inform him that his parents wished to see him.
It was a meeting that Louis wasn’t surprised by, it was a continuous back and forth with his parents. He was soon to gain his third tail and yet he hadn’t even shown the slightest interest in finding someone to settle down with. Since they’d found him, shortly after he’d grown his second tail, Louis’ parents had been trying their hardest to show an interest in their son’s life. Perhaps it had something to do with him being their heir.
Regardless, Louis had spent many many decades alone and independent. While he’d come along quietly and had allowed the two older kitsunes to welcome him into their home... Louis would oftentimes sneak out of the property to wander as he once had.
This life of luxury was not particularly interesting to the fairly young kitsune.
His displeasure with their decision to hold a tournament in order to find a suitable ...suitor for his hand in marriage was evident in the way his tails curled around him instead of the way they had been languidly waving about before. Louis’ eyes flashed as he voiced his objections.
They were dismissed swiftly and the time of the tournament was set to begin at the rising of the next new moon.
As mild mannered as Louis normally was, he couldn’t be completely blamed for the crack in the door to the main meeting hall that appeared after he’d slammed it upon his exit.
