Short bio: Henry was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts. His father was an abusive Marine, and his mother turned a blind eye. When he was 16 he ran away from home and never looked back. He hitchhiked his way across the country until he ended up in California, where a police sergeant (who happened to also be a rancher) let him stay with him as long as he helped out on the ranch. After getting his GED and turning 18, he ended up joining the police academy and moving up in the department.
He met Myriam Challa, an Israeli who had moved to California to attend medical school. After dating for a couple of years, they married and had their son, Yeshua “Josh” Spencer three years later. After he made detective, he spent more and more time away from home, and Myriam expressed more and more frustration. Wanting to expand her practice and feeling stuck at home with Josh, she talked Henry into spending more time at home. This didn’t last long, but just as they were on the verge of divorce when Josh was ten, Myriam gave birth to their daughter, Tesla.
They were very briefly better off, but when Tess was 6, Myriam moved out and moved back to Israel, giving up her right to the kids on paper and never setting foot in the U.S. again. Henry was forced to cut back on working, and around this time his old mentor passed, and left his ranch to Henry. He moved the kids there and raised Tess mostly there.
When Tess eventually moved out, he retired and went on to work the ranch and enjoy some quiet. Josh went on to follow in his footsteps and joined the force. Tess moved to the east coast and eventually joined the FBI. Josh married and had four daughters, making Henry a grandfather, and he sees them all quite often. He doesn’t see Tess nearly as much as he’d like to.
