@osiriis 1v1 me in rumble scrub, see if you can steal my supers then
“You know, if the Vanguard don’t trust somebody, I’m inclined not to either. They may not always do things the way they should, but most of the time they’re pretty good judges of character. Besides, I just don’t get why anyone would want to be a part of the Trials - it’s not some test of strength...at least, not the good kind. They’re trying to see what we’re capable of. That’s my theory. I’m all for experimentation, but only when we know what it’s for. Does that make sense? It’s like some twisted clinical trial where they don’t tell you what it’s for, but they pay you just enough so you don’t care. It’s not ethical.”
@warlock-named-raleigh liked for a starter with calleigh-4.
The night was still young. Calleigh found herself watching a Nightfall team ready themselves for their journey deep into the Cosmodrome as she plucked at some of her own wiring; a faint pull in her Light made her wonder why she’d been in the Tower for so long after so much time in the field. She’d never thought she’d begin to miss it the way Allyssa always raved about, and yet the call of the wild tugged at her very soul.
Lost in these thoughts and the adjustments she was implementing on her left arm’s inner wiring (her reflexes had been a bit off lately after sustaining an injury several weeks ago), she did not sense the other Warlock’s presence at first, but when she did, she thought it best to at least try to seem friendly. The night wasn’t kind to everyone, after all. Best to try and make it a little easier.
“They’re in it for the long-haul, huh?” She jerked her head toward the fireteam gathering outside the hallway that led to the hangar. “Nightfall missions are not easy, nor easily gotten. They should be proud.”

“You’ve clearly never done this before.”
Crossing her arms, Calleigh-4 looked down skeptically at the smaller Exo before her. She’d taught Hunters before; Allyssa-7 had needed much guidance to learn how to effectively use Solar energy, but this one had some butterfingers at the moment. “How much of this is nerves, Hazard? This...isn’t what you thought it’d be, is it.”
They hadn’t been training together for more than a few days; Calleigh was stuck in the Tower between Dreadnaught reconnaissance expeditions and had been pulled from the list of older Guardians who were willing to be mentors. She hadn’t really anticipated being chosen as a mentor - she was urged to sign up by the Vanguard, and it’s hard to tell Ikora Rey “no” - and in the midst of the Taken crisis, this seemed really inconvenient. Hazard was interesting, though. Her record was...worth the read, to the say the least.
“What do you think your biggest problem is? What are you struggling with the most? Is it the bow, or the abilities? Harnessing the Void at all?”
It had been some time since Calleigh-4 had found herself with time in the Tower to spare. For months her days had been spent with her fireteam, dodging in and out of the tower to converse with the Vanguard between long stays in the Wild. The Taken debacle had kept her out even longer, caught in the fray of fighting an enemy she didn’t understand and struggling to learn. Much had changed about her since she last stayed a night in the City.
Thankfully, she had a moment’s rest, spent infusing her weapons and armor before heading into the field for who-knows-how-long once again. Surprisingly, despite Guardians being all around, no one had approached her yet. After so long in the wilderness, however, it’s hard to lower her guard, so when a Guardian passing by lingered on a glance, she looked up and stared, unblinking and skeptical; her bright red optics boring straight through them.
“Something you need?”
- "So, you think you can kill a god?"
“No, ma’am, I do not.” A solemn Warlock stands before the Queen, shoulders back, head high, and expression nearly unreadable. She opens her mouth to speak again, but a smaller Hunter nudges her out of the way and steps forward, raising her head to the Queen and clenching her fists.
“But we can sure as hell try.”
"With all this talk and questioning of Fallen behaviors and biology, I find myself disdainful that no one has thought to retrieve any corpses! At least, not here." An exasperated Exo waves her hands about as she speaks, pacing and thinking aloud to a nearby Hunter, who seems to be ignoring her in favor of sharpening her throwing knives. "This Wolves fiasco could be a wonderful opportunity."
