I'm having Emotions about the Dellamorte family again.
OH YEAH--All of my muses are updated on my carrd so if you're wondering who the fuck these Dellamorte Bastards are, Catia and Bibiana are finally in there! In addition Eliane Cousland and Rowan Guerrin are also now there!
There is a Part of me that created the Dellamorte Bastard girls because as much as I dislike Caterina as a person, I think she's a fucking fascinating character and given what we learn about her I just have such a hard time seeing her so obviously running her family into the ground without a back up. Having an entire alternate bloodline in her back pocket, ones who view her not as their grandmother but their infallible savior? That's a good fucking reason to have such a laissez faire manner of managing her grandsons and potential heirs.
I need to write a proper post for it but I have a concept I'd like to develop more of the fact that it's not Catia who would be heir if something happens to those men, it's her eventual child. A child that Caterina can raise 'from scratch' with limited interference of the parent and of course with the 'knowledge' to correct the mistakes of all her previous children and grandchildren she has buried.
She truly suffers from the DA Tradition of 'Absolutely Intensely Interesting and Complicated Female Villain Ruined by the Writers Being Afraid to Actually Make Her The Villain She Should Clearly Fill the Role Of Narratively.'
Thinking about the Dellamorte’s which does mean I’m thinking about Bibiana and Catia and them being allowed to be Softer than ‘real’ Dellamorte’s while also having infinitely less freedom because they’re civilians sworn to a crow house. There is nothing they can do to stop Caterina from dictating their lives, they have no power, they live at her whim. They call it mercy and patronage but it’s a cage.
Every time I write about Catia and Bibiana I think about writing Caterina properly and I will probably write fic of her but I fear rp would be hard because she would just have people killed lol.
When Caterina attends non-crow functions, such as parties or business meetings Catia tends to accompany her as her Lady's maid. She goes about things in a normal fashion, ensuring that all of Caterina's needs with the house staff they're guests with are taken care of, ensuring that all of Caterina's food are discretely tested for poisons so as to not offend the host, and of course ensuring that Caterina appears befitting of her station. Outside of these things, Catia is allowed some time to herself, though being something of a perfectionist when it comes to her work rarely delegates the more important tasks to lesser maids. The one exception however, is when Caterina requests she take a round for any gossip that might be of interest to the old Talon of which Catia is happy to provide.
I think Catia would have a conniption if she knew that The Young Lord Dellamorte was sleeping in a pantry.
What if this were a lowkey plot call for Catia & Bibiana?
