( been thinking about ‘niss, how i wanna present him as a character. i’ve been toying with the idea of playing off the old “ mobster henchman ” stereotype, where he’s mostly this big brute that serves as his dad’s muscle. 

maybe i could combine my current concept, where he’s a hitman, with him being largely viewed as good at violence but not so much at independent thought? he does anything his dad asks without complaint, and because he’s near - silent most folks assume not much is going on upstairs.

i think all the spider siblings coped with their circumstances in various ways. angel escaped through drugs. arackniss escaped inward, keeping all his thoughts and emotions on lock. he never explored his own ideas, interests, and identity outside of his work because he was never given the chance to. )

( old hc from when val had his own blog that i’ve tweaked a bit: in a similar vein to my alastor, i imagine valentino has some kinda Punishment he has to deal with on a daily basis. 

after mulling it over, the idea that came to me is that he experiences a very inconsistent sense of satisfaction, finding himself anywhere between full from just a few bites of food to horrifically sleep deprived in spite of having gotten a full night of rest. he never knows where he’ll land on any given day, with any given thing.

his sense are also far more sensitive than he’d like them to be, so he often self - medicates with drugs and alcohol in hopes of dulling them. because of his varying degrees of tolerance to those substances as well as his frequent inability to discern if he’s hitting his limit or not, he’s often in danger of hurting himself or even sending himself to limbo.

he’s better at it than he used to be, but there are days when he can’t feel the effects of ANYTHING where he’s so desperate for some kind of relief that he overdoes it )

( new helluva got me wanting to write some of my muses here, SO i’m polishing up my muselist. i have dropped rae [ the sheep demon from “ a day in the afterlife ” ], collin, and moxxie as muses because i didn’t feel them very strongly. i plan to add the actual fizzarolli to the roster. )
