@youkilloryoudiie Colton didn't know how long he'd been running for. He really didn't know where he thought he was going to go-- everyone in the neighborhood where he lived knew his dad, and in his pain and panic-filled state of mind, he was so sure he'd be dragged back if someone found him. So he ran for the woods. He was starting to really feel the pain now that his adrenaline was wearing off. His knees, the soles of his feet, his right eye, and his left elbow were throbbing, and he couldn't see out of the aforementioned eye-- when he touched it, he just felt dried blood, and he couldn't remove it. There was blood all over him, he knew that without looking down. As he turned his head back to be absolutely sure he wasn't being chased, he smacked right into something. At first he thought it was a tree, but it was too soft. When he looked up and saw that it was a man, he was petrified. He held up his hands, unable to see through the tears that were now forming in his good eye. Oh, he hoped this man wasn't going to take him back to his father.
These characters are relevant in the Interpol verse (also in the verse “A Cheerful Commonplace Young Man”, but some of the information doesn’t apply there) -- they’re some of the people Georgie works with on the Berkshire Police force. I’ll flesh out their characterizations and stuff as more inspiration and ideas hit me.
Nathan Colton - Georgie’s best friend on the force. Or, maybe not his best friend, because Georgie’s always been bad at making friends. But Nathan is friendly, and he doesn’t pry into his personal life. He talks a lot, but it keeps Georgie from having to do the talking. And it’s nice to have someone to sit with on lunch breaks-- it keeps people from staring and whispering (or worse, feeling bad and coming to try and keep him company). Nathan isn’t very well-liked around the force, not because he isn’t nice, but because he’s a little too loud and talkative for most people to handle. He’s been on the force a year longer than Georgie has, but he’s only made it to the rank of Constable. Despite his seniority, he’s not as assertive as Georgie is (Georgie is only quiet when it comes to socializing), which is why his promotion hasn’t come yet. However, because of the impressive achievements of his friend, Nathan looks up to Georgie a lot, and is constantly asking him for advice (which Georgie usually doesn’t mind giving, as long as it’s strictly about work). When Georgie is reassigned by Interpol to Japan, Nathan is jealous, but very happy for his friend, trying to throw him a surprise going-away party. He’s not very good at secrets, however, and Georgie finds out and shuts that down nicely, but quickly. He misses Georgie when he’s gone, and frequently sends him updates on the happenings of the force.

Frances Stroud - The Chief Inspector of the force, and therefore Georgie’s boss. She leads with a firm hand and always seems to know what’s happening everywhere at all times. She’s always fair, however, and always has a kind word to say about her colleagues. She did debate in high school and uni, and she’s won numerous competitions at both local and nation-wide levels. She was offered the rank of Superintendent numerous times, but because that would take her out of field work (even moreso than being a Chief Inspector does), she turned down the promotion. Her biggest regret is not going down the path of being a detective-- not because she doesn’t enjoy or appreciate the work she does do, but because she always wanted to be a detective when she was younger. However, her parents didn’t approve of it, so she listened. By the time she came to realize that she didn’t need to follow the path they laid out for her, she was already dedicated to the career she was working towards. Now, if you ask her, she says that she would’ve made a horrible detective, but the rest of the force disagrees. Her motto is definitely “work hard, play hard”, because at the end of each season she throws a party for her team, and she’s known to go out for drinks after long days with a few other colleagues. She also manages to maintain an incredibly balanced life, despite her hectic schedule-- she promises at least one sit-down dinner per week with her wife Shayla and their kids Sophia and Elias, and she uses her vacation time to do whatever they want to do-- vacation, trips to the theatre, or just sitting at home watching movies. She plays the guitar, and she used to tap dance in high school, but never got a chance to pick it up again (she totally still remembers how, though.) She goes jogging every morning, and goes to the gym at least once a week as well. Once a year, she holds a training session for the force, but it’s more like a field day-- they do a lot of team-building exercises and races and such-- she usually just moderates, but she challenges the winner of the 90-yard dash to race her (and she’s never lost once).

Piercings: None Just got out of a three year relationship with a male named Jackson Huff, who is currently in prison for domestic abuse and attempted rape. It was his first relationship he has ever had. He's terrified of starting another relationship, and usually spends his time working or at home reading and listening to music with the volume down, he usually orders take out. But on occasion he goes out to a cafe down the street from the shop and orders either half a turkey sandwich or a Caesar salad. He usually drinks a variety of hot tea but never soda or alcohol. The reason Colton is so terrified of Jackson is because Jackson is the same species as Colton and knows how to kill him, though Colt would never harm another being even if they were threatening his life. Huff only got caught because a neighbor heard yelling, then the sound of glass breaking multiple times, she called the cops and they caught Huff in the act of attacking Colt with a silver knife. The only way to kill Colt's specific species is to either cut them open with a silver knife and burn their heart or inject liquid fire into their veins which will kill them slowly, helpless as the fire spreads through their blood stream and into their heart. It's a painful way to die, with no cure. They will die if you inject the liquid fire into their veins, there's absolutely no way of surviving it. (Will add more background later on.)
