DILUC X G!N READER
summary : the nights are getting colder.
author's note : posting this, so my blog won't die💀💀 i'll proofread this later, dw.
AS MUCH AS you didn't wanna believe it, half of the month november has already passed by and almost all the autumn-coloured leafs were laying low on the ground, letting the wind guide them all around from time to time.
@tenebriism asked:
Those who come to the Angels Share are always under the protection of its owner, from the moment they step through the door to the moment they leave, and even beyond, unbeknownst to them. Diluc watches her as he wipes down a glass, setting it down to reach for another... but as she slowly begins to drift to sleep, he switches gears and disappears into the backroom.
Within scarred arms is a folded blanket, which he proceeds to carefully drape over her shoulders so she shan't suffer the cold of night whilst slumbering. Of course, he shall gently rouse her awake when all of his closing duties are complete, but for now... he will let her rest under his watchful eye.
Alice isn't against alcohol, per se. She has plenty of fun meeting friends for a nice dinner and drinks to go with it, or tasting the traditional flavors of a festival here and there. But it is rare for her to actually want a drink in order to feel its effects.
After a long, bad day at work, she made her way to Angel's Share. Finding the corner table vacant felt like the universe throwing her a bone and she sat down with a sigh. The first drink burns down her throat and has her sitting upright, rolling her shoulders slightly as if to try and release a spot within her ribcage to fit the emotions she's compartmentalizing. The second drink helps her to slowly ease out of her incessant overthinking, and she keeps sipping in an effort to make it stop entirely.
By the time she's finally relaxed enough that her mind is pleasantly blank, exhaustion sneaks in right behind. The clinking of glasses becomes a soothing lullaby that has her eyes falling closed despite herself, and soon enough she slips into slumber. The comforting, warm weight of something placed around her isn't enought to wake her. On the contrary, it just has her sinking further into a dreamless void.
When she wakes, Alice has no idea how much time has passed. A quick glance around the room tells her that most patrons have already left, which only embarrasses her further. Folding the blanket while she tries to fight the warmth still lingering bright and evident on her face, Alice makes her way to the bar.
"I've been embarrassing myself in front of you quite often lately..." She says with an embarrassed smile while handing Diluc the blanket back. "Thank you."
@tenebriism asked for a [ shoulder touch ]
[ SHIELD ]: the sender catches hold of the receiver's shoulder and draws them back and away from a threat, pulling them behind them for their safety. // Diluc doing Diluc things~
Having grown up with the conveniece of thunder spheres all around her, using gliders in Mondstadt is definitely fun, but it also brings about a few awkward moments as well. As a doctor, Alice keeps a set schedule and route for picking specialty ingredients, and as much as everyone is beyond used to people walking across rooftops and climbing walls to harvest materials, it still feels a little weird for her.
Case in point, she happens to see Diluc a few times every week whenever she's going over the winery. And she has yet to figure out a non-awkward greeting right after she's tip tapped her way across his roof to get another impulse and go on her merry way. She's even wondered whether she should bring him a gift or pay him something like a roof tax? Overthinking is a curse.
This time, she doesn't see him. Huh. While she's a little relieved to avoid interrupting his morning, going without this little part of her routine suddenly feels strange.
Reaching the end of her route by the water, she takes a moment to wash her harvest and organize them neatly inside her basket. And now that's done, Alice can make the way back at her leisure. She's walking through wolvendom when she notices an abundance of small lamp grasses. For obvious reasons, her schedule for picking those are always in the latter part of the day, but since there are so many around her, she figures she might as well.
The thought of studying whether a small lamp grass picked during the day might have different properties than those picked at night suddenly occupies her mind completely. So much so that she fails to notice the danger she's in until a gentle hand on her shoulder pulls her out of the way.
The sight of his fiery hair and his broad back instantly calms her down, despite a belated shudder coursing through her upon realizing he'd just saved her from a Riftwolf.
"Thank you." Alice breathes out while bringing forth her catalyst. She's definitely bringing him something next time.
mylupical asked: ❝Easy, there. Try to sit up.❞(Diluc)
DRUNK STARTERS
They don’t...actually remember anything this time. They remember having a little too much fun at a party last night, but the details aren’t there. Clutching their head with a groan, Chongyun doesn’t sit up right away. He doesn’t even recognize Diluc’s voice at first, deciding it’s too loud against Chongyun’s pounding headache.
As much as Chongyun wants to ask ‘what happened’, he’s got some idea that he’d lost control. “Did I...do anything bad?” They crack their eyes open to glance up at Diluc, immediately closing them. They can lay here for awhile, it’s fine. It’s not like they’re the only one that made a mess of things.
