Dove looks up at the neon sign that illuminated the street below, it was a rather risqué sign, letting those passing on the street know exactly what kind of business it is. Double checking to make sure the address was correct, she enters through the double glass doors. The music pumps through the building, vibrating the carpeted floor. The lights are dim only illuminated by a few overhead lamps, most of the room is lit up by a pastel blue hue, a dancer gracefully dancing under the sultry lighting. Scanning over the crowd Dove spots a man nestled in the far right corner, talking to one of the dancers. Strutting her way over, she watches the dancer walk away nearly in tears. Brushing it off, she begins speaking with the man, leaning close so he’s able to hear her over the music.
“I’m looking for work. Whatever you got, bartender, bouncer or dancer.” The creepy looking man corks his brow, motioning for her to follow him. Hesitantly Dove follows the man, weaving through a few men and women watching the woman flash them on stage. Finally they make their way to a wooden door that read “Employees Only.” He holds up his pointer finger, telling her to wait for him as he disappears behind the door.
A few minutes later he emerges with a stack of papers in his hands, rutting them towards Dove. “Here, fill these out and I’ll see what I can do.” Without another word the man leaves Doves side, she blinks rapidly unhinged by the odd experience. Quickly shoving the papers into her bag, she makes her way to the bar, ordering a cocktail. Sitting at the bar stool she waits patiently for her drink. As the bartender slides the glass towards her, Dove takes a sip, drifting her eyes towards a blonde woman but a few feet away. She obviously worked her. But Dove couldn’t help but admire her, she was gorgeous, golden locks falling perfectly down her back. Her features were soft, plump cheek bones and a curved jawline. Lips flushed pink and plump, muttering words to another patron of the bar. Doves eyes cast away as the woman catches her staring, embarrassment flushing across her cheeks.
