so

ive decided that edward/edyths parents are polish immigrants that went to the us around...oh, i wanna say 1898? because there was a mass migration from southeastern europe to the us from around 1870-1914.

so his/her parents were edward and elzbieta maslanka. due to assimilation and desperation to better fit in, elzbieta changed her name to elizabeth and maslanka turned into masen.

which means, yes, edward and edyth can speak polish. I HOWEVER CANNOT SO UH--

yes i am heavily ignoring canon. no u cannot stop me :’)

“..You’re Emmeline, aren’t you?”

Edyth tilted her head, holding her hand out after a beat of silence and offering the best smile that she could. “I am Edyth. I’m seeing your sister, Bella.” Of course she knew it was Emmeline, though. Everyone knew who Emmeline was, but Edyth (or the rest of the Cullens, for that matter) never got involved in making friends with humans..until now, at least.

“It’s nice to finally meet you. Bella has said a lot about you to me, everything positive. You write a lot..a journalist, yes? I admire journalists. They speak the truth when no one else will.”

Edyth wrinkled her nose, blowing her bangs out of her face. She couldn’t stop people from thinking about Beau how they did, but it still drove her nuts. After all, she was bombarded with peoples’ thoughts, if she wasn’t focusing on blocking it out. And it was from boys and girls alike.

How troublesome.
