Official Muse Bias List:
Going to make a Page for this on my blog too, but this one I’ll update from time to time. This will be for ships I wouldn’t mind having/like, but I’m always open for chemistry to any sort of relationship, so what’s placed here doesn’t have to happen.
To make this post “short” I’ll be placing the rest under read more.

During my replay of FF9, I have made the decision that my Main Verse for Garnet is going to keep her short hair. Permanently. that’s all. nothing detrimental to her character or anything. I just think short hair suits her and that she didn’t need to grow it back out. So she’s not going to.
@blaschoice asked: Zidane lands upon the balcony with no trace of sound. These guards were no match for his genius of infiltration. Walking into her room he raises a finger to his lips as he pulls flowers from behind him. Upon handing them over he leans in for one more whisper, "What do you say we do away with the balcony fucking and instead you make me the happiest guy alive finally becoming mine?"
Garnet was full of contradictions and conflicted feelings. Not only was she to fulfill the role of Queen for the Alexandrian People, but she was also Dagger; a girl who wanted to see the world and find adventure. At the beginning of it all, she simply thought her traversing the world was a necessity, but that was then. And even now, she wondered towards her own conflictions with Zidane, who often visited after his one year disappearance.
He was... complicated. He wouldn’t agree, she felt, but for herself, Garnet often wondered if the flirtations she entertained from him was worth it. She didn’t have it in her to send him away. (god’s forbid that) but was she truly what he wanted, or just another conquest? Wouldn’t he feel more free if he left her to her duties and traveled the world as he saw fit?
She was certain he’d find plenty of lady’s to flirt with, though the thought made her stomach flip, sickened by the thought. Even now she wondered if she should cut him off or let him continue as he saw fit, even while she fretted over their earlier actions that day. He’d been himself, but she.. she had finally attempted her own reciprocation. Despite her failure to flirt, she knew he wouldn’t make claims if he wasn’t planning something.
And that something made her gasp when she heard the sounds of him moving along her balcony. Of course it would be him. She never doubted that. Who else would dodge the guards and come straight to her chambers if not him?
“Zidane,” She began, pushing off from her chaise lounge, hands already set before her as if to keep distance between them, “I know what I did earlier probably made it look as if I wanted you to make good on your word, but I think it probably best we-”
The flowers stunned her. Fingers grasping their stems before she could think, and Zidane’s expression didn’t match the teasing she expected. The words spoken are for her ears only and God’s be damned she hated how it made her knees feel weak. How it sent all her previous thoughts spiraling as she struggled to stay above water and think clearly. The floral arrangement was beautiful and Garnet knew she’d want them set up on the table near by as soon as possible.
“... you’re not here to tease me more.” It was a statement, more than a question. The balcony claims were certainly due to their earlier flirting, but this... this .. felt different. She licked her lips and tried to process her thoughts. Would he truly be the happiest?
“Becoming yours is not something I can just decide to do.” Garnet said carefully, hiding the trembling of her hands with the gifted flowers. “It has so many intricacies in my position that it hurts my head to think about. But in the end, I know the only reason I can’t so easily do it, is because whoever I go to, I want to be mine in return. It’s selfish, but...”
Wouldn’t he be happier with someone else? Someone with less political baggage? Or multiple someone's he could date depending on the town he entered. Would she hold him back?
“Zidane, if you’re serious... then I can’t be your Dagger unless you’re mine too.”
A fun thing about Garnet, is even after the events of FF9, she still tries to talk less like a Royal, depending on who she’s speaking to. Which leads to interesting moments of her using slang wrong (or correctly) to the wrong person and it being very awkward for everyone involved. Repeats of the “get off me scumbag” moment have been done, as she tries to find the right moment to use it.
She hasn’t found it yet.
It was a nice gesture. A nice thought even, but also a weird one. Messages such as this were hard to understand. Was it a joke? One of his teases? Was Zidane actually serious for- how did one understand tone in words? Especially when she was missing the context for the message. Out of left field, right as she woke up.
Garnet’s eyes narrowed at the screen and she wondered what sort of trouble Zidane could possibly be in to message her that of all things.
[text: Zidane] I wasn’t sure if this was a joke or not.
[text: Zidane] On the chance it’s not, please message me back soon.
[text: Zidane] I’m worried something happened.
[text: Zidane] Do you need my assist- Help?
Lips pulled into a frown and she sighed. The unease wasn’t a foreign feeling, but she wasn’t sure what to think of it. Was it truly just from worry, or something else? Ugh, now she was getting a headache. It was better to get dressed and start the rest of her day.
And if he didn’t respond...
[text: Zidane] I’m happy when I know my friends are safe.
Perhaps that would do it for him.
Despite how much Garnet travelled over Gaia during the events of FF9, being resigned to ruling Alexandria on her own has made her morning views out the window stale. She loves her Kingdom and understands the responsibility set before her, as well as believes herself capable of handling it. (she’s not alone, after all.)
But that doesn’t stop the itch to see the world again. She remembers the sights she had seen before. The night view of Treno, the desert in Burmecia, even Condie Petie and Fossil Roo. She wishes she could go all over again. Just to visit or see the sites, but knows all too well the full entourage that would want to come with her.
Could she ask her friends of the past to travel with her once again? Absolutely not, they’ve all moved on to do their own things, but sometimes, she really wishes for those times again. Almost like a vacation.
Maybe she’ll find a reason to eventually. She certainly wont stop trying at least.
