Igor felt the cigarette coursing through his body. He hadn’t felt this type of anxiety in a long while. He went on plenty of dates before, and he enjoyed, them back home, however this would be one of the first times he went out with an American. The minute he came to America he went straight to work and didn’t bother to make that many friends. Now that he was working with the Vasile family, and was still remembering what they had done for him, after he had gotten stabbed he felt slightly closer to them. He felt the awkward wall that was formed was starting to slowly diminish.
Few weeks had passed and he was learning that his family were disappearing. He had been put on guard duty and the hours were long. It wasn’t hard work it was just extra work that he didn’t want to do but he had to do. Igor finally had time to himself and he decided to spend this time by going out on a date with Monika. He was ecstatic, nervous, anxious and now he was waiting around in the park. He thought they could meet at the park first, walk for a bit towards the restaurant, and afterwards she was welcome to think of anything else she wanted to do.
He reached for his phone and began to dial her number. Igor was just about to press call when he instantly saw her from the distance. Her beautiful blonde hair glistening under the night sky, everything about her, was perfection.
Igor approached her and kissed her cheek. “Good evening. You look beautiful.” He commented.
