     Missing any of his matches left Alice in a quietly sour mood, but sometimes there was just no helping it. She’d been in Tokyo for almost an entire week and even by shinkansen she was scheduled to arrive long after the starting time. However, sticking to a strict schedule from the very first day onward allowed her to finish up her part and take an earlier train home.

Changing her suit jacket for a Schweiden Adlers jersey jacket, Alice rushes to the main court and manages to catch the end of the first set, joining in with the crowd in cheering for them. Glad that she was able to watch most of it, she takes her time getting down from the bleachers, knowing the team would be busy with the reporters and photographers, and then dedicate some time to the fans.

Smiling fondly as he goes around giving autographs to the tiniest fans first, she patiently waits for her turn with the star setter. Some of the other team members seem to notice her first, and she offers a wave as well as polite bow to Hoshiumi-san and Ushijima-san, only to feel the very moment those sharp, beautiful blue eyes land on her.

Her smile widens fully when Tobio seems to freeze for a second, remembering to finish his last autograph before heading straight towards her. Before she knows it, she’s wrapped up in his embrace and nearly lifted off the ground, chuckling happily at being cradled in his strong arms despite how sweaty he is.

“Congratulations!” She tells him once he’s put her down, and since he’s gone and done all that already, Alice takes the chance to press a tiny kiss to his lips. They can catch up properly once they’re home.

     She’d stopped by his classroom before first period, nervously holding the colorful wrapping in her hands, but he’d been asleep and Alice decided to wait. At lunch time, she knew to look for him by the vending machines so he could get a little carton of milk, but he’d been busy talking with some upperclassmen and she didn’t want to interrupt.

Knowing she wouldn’t have time to stop by his place that evening, once classes were over, the girl rushed towards the gym and spotted him on the way to the clubhouse to change. “Kageyama-kun!” Calling out so he’d stop, she caught up and took a deep breath to steady herself, feeling heat rising to her cheeks when faced with him and the undivided attention of those piercing blue eyes.

“Um... here.” Lamely handing him the bag containing the softest bunny plushie that held a striking similarity to Cinnabun as well as homemade chocolates, she fidgeted a little with her hands. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

@demaese​ asked: among a mass of fluffy blankets, pets and stuffed animals is a snoozing tobio, tuckered out after having a fun day at alice's place.

     “Tob-” She starts calling out her boyfriend’s name upon returning to her bedroom, wanting to ask what they should do for dinner, but stopping midways upon seeing him absolutely conked out in her bed. Quietly, Alice makes her way closer, smile growing bigger and bigger as she takes in the full sight of him asleep on his back, with Cinnabun curled up into a perfect ball of floof atop his tummy and Nui tucked in against his side, using his arm as a pillow.  

She admires the sweetness of it all for a quiet moment before grabbing her phone and taking a few pictures of her three favorite cuties. All it takes is a border, some heart and sparkle stickers et voilà, a perfect new background for her phone. 

Alice doesn’t have the heart to wake any of them, and figures that dinner can wait a while longer. Carefully joining them in the bed, she grabs a book from her nightstand and just catches up on her reading for a bit while they nap.

     They’ve recently moved in together, but somehow haven’t actually spent that much time with each other. It’s game season for him, which means a lot of traveling, and her residency rotation has her working shifts at all hours. When their schedules do match, the quietude of their house becomes peaceful and comforting. And for someone who’s spent many years alone in empty homes, Alice couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Tobio arrives later than usual that evening, exhausted from a heavy training session. Despite his usual large appetite, she knows that at times like these he’d rather have something lighter to eat. While he soaks his overworked muscles in a hot bath, she puts away what she’d made for dinner earlier and makes him some miso soup instead.

He emerges from the bath looking better, definitely more relaxed, but still quite tired. They don’t exchange any words; his gratitude easily telegraphed to her in the way he leans into her affectionate touches, how much he’s missed her in the way he holds her still by his side for just a second, resting his cheek to her hair and taking in the scent of her shampoo.

After he’s eaten, they both retire to their bedroom, and Alice has him sit still for a little bit so she can rub his shoulders, working at the tension spots she’s been familiar with ever since their school days. Pressing a soft kiss to the back of his neck once all the knots have been worked away, she’s stepping down from the bed to go grab a new book for her bedside table when she suddenly finds herself lifted off the ground and dropped back onto the mattress. His steady, meticulous hands are just as used to easing out the aches on her lower back, and from there, it’s remarkably easy for her to find her place in his embrace, ready to fall asleep.

The buzz of a new message on her phone draws a tiny sigh from her, and with an apologetic caress along his muscular arm, Alice shifts to grab the device. Tobio quietly refuses to loosen his grip on her, but soon relaxes as his breathing grows deeper. She dims the light on her screen so she can read without disturbing him, skimming over the email detailing a few changes on her schedule for next week. 

Double checking the notifications, she finds a message from an old friend she hadn’t noticed before: a funny screenshot from one of her boyfriend’s many ads and an inquiry as to when they’ll be getting married. They’ve been getting those sorts of comments for a while now, particularly from their grandparents. It brings a smile to her face, but it’s too soon for that kind of talk. She is one-handedly telling her friend so when Tobio’s voice breaks the comfortable silence of their entire time together that day with something that sends her heart thundering inside her chest. 

Her phone forgotten, Alice turns around in his embrace to properly meet his gaze - tired, sleepy, and absolutely earnest - a smile blooming across her lips to match the warmth coloring her cheeks. Touching his handsome face, she kisses him softly, pulling away just enough to be able to say “I love you, Tobio...”.

     Calling ahead to make sure he was home and wasn’t busy, Alice stopped by Kageyama’s place to deliver his gift. Holding the woven basket in her hands, a soft fabric hiding its contents from view, she greeted Kagura-san with a bow and a smile, giving the elegant lady her Christmas gift already since it was so close and then excusing herself to go up to the boy’s room.

“Kageyama-kun~!” She knocked on the door, smiling brightly when he opened it. “Happy birthday!” Tugging the fabric, Alice revealed a wrapped gift and Cinnabun quietly curled up next to it. “Someone wanted to come give you a hug too.” She chirped, chuckling as the bunny placed his little paws on the edge of the basket and twitched his nose in Tobio’s direction, recognizing his scent.

     “Yay~!” She exclaimed, swinging her legs a bit on his computer chair, careful as to not disturb Neko on her lap. “Yohji-san loves festivals, but he won’t be in town, so I’m going to buy some things for him. We should get something for Kagura-san too!” Her guardian spent most of his time away for work, so she was very happy for the company.
