there are some things that koda’s not proud of–his tendency to get unreasonably jealous being one of them. sometimes, when he decides someone is his person, his possessive nature rises to the surface and it hurts seeing them with someone else. it was as if someone had injected dry ice right into the marrow of his bones as he’d watched jitae kiss kei. 

the logical part of his brain told him he had no right to be upset, that jitae was just his friend, nothing more, and therefore he wasn’t allowed to be upset that he’d kissed kei. that didn’t stop him feeling sick though, a pressure building behind his eyes as he’d strode off towards the punch bowl, knowing full well a hwaseong student had spiked it earlier in the night. he was being stupid, he’d thought to himself as he filled a cup with the red liquid, ignoring how his hands shook. 

countless cups later and koda’s downing what he swears is his lass glass, the fiery liquid sliding down easily now. true to his somewhat tipsy word he slips between the crowds around the door to the hall, almost tripping over a girls dress as he makes his way towards the door that leads out to the grounds. the chill night air hits him, sending a shiver down his spine, but it’s pleasant.

it’s then that he remembers he’d lost nahyun a while back, some time before he’d seen jitae and kei. he’s just about to head back inside to look for her when he spots her not too far away and calls out, “nahyun!”
