Tori brushed the thick locks of hair to the side. Bright eyes fixed to Likereal who stares up at her inquiringly. His lips parted slightly as he listened with great intent. “You know that much don’t you.”
She tilted her head to the side. “Imagine this, some scrawny teenage brat, up against some slick sick demon shit. He has her pinned against the wall, jaws opened wide, rancid breath down her throat, and she stands with just some beaten up baseball bat and some foolish idea that she can win it.”
Likereal leans forward. “Oh, go on.” His words are smooth, they always are. His attention invites her to spill more as she paced from one side of the room to the other. Her hands clung tightly to her arms.
“She doesn’t know what to do at first. Too much thinking and not enough instincts, but as it lunges forward she knows. One swing on the bat, right to it’s stomach, and then the thing is staggered, one more to it’s knees, it falls to the ground, and then the last one.”
She pointed to her head, her eyes fixed straight ahead. She can hear the crack of it still, bat against skull, and the sick squishing of blood and brain matter beneath the bat.
“Then she hits the head, first blood it pours and…” she stopped her lips curled downwards in a frown. “Doesn’t matter much… how about yours?”
"Bad End" (Doesn't have to involve Kimmi or Likereal up to you).
‘Was it worthy it…’ was her very first thought. She stood on the edge of the world staring down at the mess that she had wrought. Her green eyes fixed and focused to a singular point. A pool of white feathers mixed with a pool of ruby red. ‘What a pretty thing…’ she thought her hair fluttering in the breeze.
Faintly she heard screaming behind her, the wretched sound of horror and pain fell upon deafen ears. Tori knelt down her fingers brushing over the slick puddle of feathers. The horrifying mass before her looked to terribly disgusting. Still the former hunter could only smile as she lifted her fingers to examine the thick liquid.
“It’s pretty,” she muttered. Her shattered mind didn’t even try to comprehend the grim sight before her. Her ears grew deaf to the horrified screams and the singing that spills forth from the open skies. She feels something, a tug, as she is pulled to her feet. She is forced to turn and face Kimmi and Likereal. The pair look alarmed, Kimmi is crying, her body was shaking, and her lips were moving. She creamed as loud as she could but Tori did not hear her.
Likereal stood in opposition. His bright eyes fixed to her with that determined stare, his jaw squared, and his grip pulled her back. She became aware of the scent of iron and the scent of something more sinister lingered in the air. Her stomach curled into knots as she glanced down at her right hand. To the white knuckled grip over her bat. Her gaze continued downwards towards the wooden bat, to the blood splatted and smeared across the surface. She turned her attention back to Kimmi.
“Tori, why?”
These are the only words Tori can hear. She can hear the angelic choir booming up above. Her blood runs cold as she looks over at the mass of what was once an angel. Her head tilted to the side, long hair tumbled over her shoulders, and she tried to piece back how this had all happened.
It was the angels. They had surprised them, wasn’t that always the case? She shook her head. It all poured back into her mind. The shrieking creature that descended from the heavens. Weapons out as it called out in it’s commanding voice.
“Impure lay yourself down upon my blade and be spared the shame of your defiance.”
Likereal had not given up so easily and Kimmi. She was too frightened to move, too afraid, and Tori… she had been so close by. She was always watching and waiting, and now she knows why she was called to. The angel and fallen angel had gone into battle, Likereal would fall to the ground bleeding and helpless as the angel turned to Kimmi. Kimmi could not escape, she was too slow, and the angel was too powerful. The half angel let out a horrified shriek as the angel came upon her. She ducked down, attempted to shield her lithe form and the hunter sprang into action.
Two steps, a swing of the bat, and then the thud is all it takes. It’s a surprise attack so he falls on the ground. She’s got rage and she’s got the advantage. It takes only a few moments and now her Kimmi is safe and Likereal is safe.
Though now her fate is sealed. She turns to Likereal and Kimmi. Her smile is faint as she hears the song grow louder. “Go,” she says with blood stain hands that brush against Likereal’s arm.
“They will look to eradicate the sinner.”
Likereal’s expression shifts into that of understanding. He stepped aside and Kimmi filled the space. She grabbed onto Tori’s arms, her own hands brush against the blood. “Tori we can all make it. If we run now,” she tried her eyes wide and eager. Tori smiles her left hand raises to wrap around Kimmi. She pulls her lover closer, her eyes fixed to Likereal as a weak smile spread across her features.
“Kimmi I love you,” she starts, already she can hear Kimmi cry. The tears tumble from her cheeks. She feels Kimmi’s arm snake around her waist.
“T-tori.”
Tori glances towards Likereal. The fallen angel nods his head. His expression grows grim. He understands what needs to be done. He approaches the two women, his own eyes meeting with Tori. There are no more words and there is no more time. All the former hunter can say is:
“goodbye.”
Kimmi screams out ripped from Tori’s arms. Likereal’s grip is strong and he will be fast enough. He drags Kimmi away, away from the chorus, away from the heavenly glow, and away from the sense of weightlessness. Tori smiles, closes her eyes, and then there is nothing.
What happens if Likereal turns up on your doorstep badly wounded
Tori lets out a sigh, dragging her fingers through her thick brown hair, and then she shoots a glance towards her questioner. Without much thought she turns to face them. “I mean it’s rather obvious. I have to help the guy.”
She rocks forward as she perches on the edge of the couch.
“He’s probably there for Erin. So I would have to help him get there at the very least. From one hunter to another it’s kind of what we do. I mean… I don’t want anything bad to happening to him. I want to make sure he’s okay.”
A faint smile spreads to her lips. “When he gets better I won’t let him hear the end of it. I’m just saying.”
“Goddamnit!” She shouts her hands fly up to her eyes. Black covers her vision as the heat of the summer sun eats away at her skin. Of course, today of all days the air conditioning decides to break. She groans as sweat drips down the back of her neck.
“It’s hot out,” came the masculine voice, likely from Likereal. “Oh sorry, did we surprise you?” The feminine voice asked, this was Kimmi’s. Tori hisses, “why are both of you naked?”
“We aren’t technically naked… just mostly!” Kimmi’s cheerful voice filled the room and Tori became aware of something approaching her. A hand gently brushed against the top of her head.
“If I would have known that this would have gotten you so hot and both-”
Tori kicked forward blindly and made contact with something. Her hands drop to her sides as her bright red face is exposed.
“Goddamnit put on a shirt both of you! It’s distracting!”
Kimmi giggles from the other side of the counter while Likereal writhes on the floor. Tori throws her hands up in frustration. “God, at least warn me next time!”
