I think that the fact that Liora doesn’t actually remember a life outside the circle combined with her severe visual impairment is really what made her so wary of ever leaving the circle but honestly, I think there’s a degree of outright agoraphobia that was encouraged by the enchanters who raised her. Less for her to be disappointed and bitter about if she’s too frightened to even begin to consider a life outside.
