you’ve got to pay attention because he’s taking all of it in and all of it to heart and you might miss it.

it’s my fault, i forgot to remind him that the story has a happy ending. i ended on a scary chapter and he went to bed worried.

‘she breaks the wicked witch’s curse, niño.’ A younger man with no gray in his hair, less lines on his face, explained hurriedly and sincerely to the boy still hiccuping quietly.

‘a wicked witch can’t ever win, don’t you know?” He wrapped his arm around the kid, bumping his little shoulder.

‘you know that the princess does?’ He waited to hear that little sniffle of what. ‘She wakes up, and comes back with all the new friends she made. the dragon helps her, remember him?

and, the shoemaker. And our friend the Good Fairy.

And allll the animals from the forest, they show up at the castle. they free her prince from the dungeon, and then you know what they do?

they break the wicked witch’s scepter. and they kick her to the curb.” Well actually they killed her, but he didn’t want Theo to worry about her either.

“‘…and nobody in the town wanted to rent to her so she had to retire in Hoboken.” Damien made a face, which turned into a grin to see the little boy laughing quietly.

i had been speaking with libertus in, perhaps, a parking garage? as we spoke, i noticed nyx standing beside him. though I knew he was not real.

later, libertus and i rode in a car together. nyx’s appirition sat beside me, and smiled at me when i looked to him. i awoke feeling an incredibly deep sense of loss and melancholy.

a ritual was necessary in the conception of our children, as the king and i could not produce heirs in the ‘traditional’ way. the gods granted our souls a moment of complete union and intimacy, and from it came several successful pregnancies, all of which i treasured.

three little ones, between the two of us.

one with long, ash-brown hair, flecks of greyish strands in between the dark strands. it falls down her back in somewhat unkempt curls. her most decorous smile betraying naturally hesitant nature when she thinks no one is watching.

another with short brown-black hair, thick, indignant locks coiling in a similar fashion to my own when cut so close to the scalp. she insists on a cartilage piercing at 10, to my dismay.

lastly, a child with flaxen blond hair that falls to his shoulders in thin waves. he reminds me of sunlight filtering in through the window on a sunday morning, though he was never an early riser.

at times i find myself in a misty garden, just after dawn on a saturday morning. the sun beams through the trees and past the spires, warmly settling in my hands like vaporeous gold.

the flower petals whisper to me, and i smile.

Today I married the most amazing person I have ever known for the second time. Could I be any luckier? Our ceremony in Japan was a bit more formal and a way for us to celebrate with our friends and family that couldn't be with us in the US the first time. I cried a lot, kissed my husband even more and didn't quit smilin' for a single second. Now we're gonna dance and party until the sun comes up. Thank you to all the unbelievable people in our lives for being with us and showing so much love. To my husband, my heart and soul @kanisuru - you're my whole world. My inspiration, my best friend, my solid ground, my fire, my sun, my moon. You make my heart race and bring me happiness I never knew possible. I love you more than words. I love you, I love you.
