Alla is incredibly supportive of both Anders’ struggle with Justice as well as Merrill’s struggle with the eluvian. She does not necessarily support either of their methods or all of their ideologies. This is mostly due to her own struggles with intrusive and obsessive thoughts which makes her highly sympathetic to their struggles.
Sometimes it can to the point of self detriment, as she begin to take any dips in their mental health as a sign of her own failure and inability to cope. She projects more heavily onto Merrill than Anders in this regard, mostly out of a combination of a feeling of obligation towards Merrill due to Carver’s feels and that her gradually bordering on obsessive quest to complete the Eluvian evokes more concrete feelings of empathy in Alla than Anders’ much less visible struggle.
