Hi there, um, a couple of weeks ago, you blocked me and I'm really not sure why. (I didn't repost your gif) I would like to apologize if I offended you somehow, I swear genuinely didn't mean too! And if there is something I can do to make it up, would you let me know?
you’re gonna have to be a little more specific because I’ve blocked a fair number of people, usually for offensive content (stuff that spreads hate, intolerance, bashing, anti-content, etc.) or reposted art.
you mentioned not reposting my gif and I’m not sure which one you mean, but it’s not just my stuff being reposted that I block for. it’s for ALL reposted content that doesn’t belong to the reposter and for which they have not received permission from the artist to be reposted and/or had not properly sourced once permission is given. that includes any edits made to fanart/ graphics or fanart included in fanfic posts that were not drawn by the person posting the content.
reposting art without source and permission is a big no for me and results in an automatic block if I see it on my dash, in tags, or from recommended posts, no fucks given. there are certain circumstances (in cases where I’ve talked to the person before or if they’re mutuals) that I would ask them to remove the content so I don’t have to block, but I can’t control what people do and don’t do. so if my request was ignored or denied and the content remains, then I remove them from my safe space by blocking because reposted art in any form makes my salt levels rise to dead sea level (mostly because some of my favorite artists have stopped sharing their art altogether because of reposters who don’t respect the original creators).
I do appreciate the apology and the effort to rectify something you felt offended me. if you feel like I’ve blocked you by mistake, please send me a message with your url and I can unblock so that we can talk in private. otherwise, I hope this explains it and you have a good day.
