It was an arranged Marriage Wyre had been forced into, with the duty of bearing children as a good wife should. Her life revolved around being a good wife to a high order Angel, obedient and loving. A role she embodied in body and soul. A perfectly devoted angel.
She wanted children. She wanted a happy loving family.
But there was one flaw in that existance. Her body perhaps did not embody the perfect wife as much as she thought it did. Infertility denied her children. Her husband, once loving, became cruel. Blaming her for the fault. For a marriage with no results.
" Why am I being punished with a failure of a woman? "
Why was she punished with wishes she could never fulfill? It was never that she did not wish for it. Despite what her husband claimed, her wish had been to make this a happy family. But she was... imperfect. She was nothing like those she looked up to.
Day after day she was blamed for a failing marriage they were stuck in. Bruises hidden behind illusions, to her teacher she showed no worries. A smile. All the answers to the questions. Studying, hard working. But in his eyes...
He knew. He was just waiting until that fassade finally broke apart.
Nightmares plagued her repressed mind as time went on. Terrible things happening to her husband. And her the cause of them. Things she of course never would do. Yet constantly creeping up on her. Like a trial testing her resolve. But she was perfect, she could not give into such... one little flaw, but surely it was just the lord testing them... one day she'll bear that child and everything will be okay...
Until one day she could not wake up from the nightmare.
Standing over her husband, his blood on her hands. A divine blade straight to the heart. He had no chance. And neither did she.
Wyre fell to her knees, hands touching the mans lifeless face. What had she done? " Until death do us part... that was the promise... ", she whispered softly. Not recognizing her own voice. Her blood was running cold. Her perfect existance... she was a devoted wife... this was never supposed to happen!
Her hand wandered to the blade. Pulling it out of the body. Crimson dripping down. Her eyes watching it closely. This was a record she could never erase... heaven... was no place for her any longer. Not once they find this scene. Her hands directed that very blade at herself. Tears blurring her vision. She was ready to pay for what she did. Ready to...
But as she moved her hand, something was stopping her. No, not something... someone.
Tearfilled eyes would look up, into the grey eyes of her teacher. Holding her wrist in place. Her heart dropped. The teacher she idolized her whole life now saw her at her worst. What will he think? Will he condemn her? Is he going to make her face divine punishment instead of this?
Yet... those grey eyes showed none of such... they were gentle... understanding?
" It's alright Wyre... here... I'll help you up... "
She let him help her up, back onto her feet. And the familiar warmth immediately made her break down in Kalems arms. Crying as she let the blade fall to the ground and cling to Kalem. What had she done... what will she do now? She was so scared...
" You'll be alright... shhh... "
