@veiliisms asked: “... sorry! sorry, i don’t mean to stare.” renji laughs as he’s caught, reaching up to lightly scratch at the tip of his nose. “you just.. look really nice tonight. and the way the moonlight reflects off your eyes, well... it’s hard not to look.”
A flash storm had caught everyone unawares that day. Fortunately, there hadn’t been anyone injured or too much damage done overall. It did; however, knock out the power on part of their neighborhood, which ruined the prospect of movie night. She’d finished cooking already, and it was easy enough to spin the situation into a positive by making it a candle-lit dinner.
Moving to the couch afterwards, they hardly needed the candles as the balcony doors allowed moonlight to bathe her living room. The furious weather was now a gentle drizzle, its soothing melody only adding to the intimate atmosphere between them.
Alice doesn’t mind the quiet - it’s one of her favorite things about Renji. She enjoys talking to him just as much as she does just being around him in comfortable silence. For a moment, she distractedly looks over her plants outside, making a mental note to check them thoroughly tomorrow. When she turns her attention back to her guest, she finds his intense gaze already on her.
A soft smile tips her lips at seeing him laugh so timidly, growing broader as he goes on to compliment her in such a lovely way. Biting the inside of her cheek, Alice scoots closer - much closer, their face inches away from one another. “You can look all you want...” She tells him in a gentle, encouraging voice, trailing off expectantly with a glimmer in her eyes that hints at her giving him permission to do quite a bit more than just look.
