He was tired of ilex. Sure, he got the kids from Goldenrod City and Azalea town coming in quite frequently, but he was restricted to those two cities alone. He'd never be able to take out the League by making it difficult for just to gym's alone. That's why he'd done a little research.
Lumiose City, Kalos region. The entire region was shaped like a giant circle, with trainers from all over the place coming into Lumiose, either for gym battles or to progress to the next area. It was the perfect place for him to set up shop, all he needed was a place to stay, and a place to work.
The town provided him with many dark alleyways and hidden locations to lead people too, but finding a place where he could stay would not be as easy. Sure, he had plenty of money stocked up from his glory days, but it seemed like this town would be a bit more expensive than Johto. A few tips from the locals told him he could gain a lot of money in restaurants.
It seemed strange to him, making money by going somewhere to eat. If it paid off though, he'd be living large. The entrance fee was somewhat steep, but he had just enough to cover it. He seemed quite out of place in the fancy establishment, only wearing a striped sweater and jeans. What he was wearing didn't matter as long as he could make enough to rent an apartment.
He still had no idea how he was to make any money here, but if nothing good came of that, he could at least look over some potential victims.

Screams from the forest shattered the silence of the night. It wasn't the first time that month it had happened. Kids spreading rumors about some creature who takes kids who enter the forests at night was the best thing that could have happened to Valentine. Instead of staying away, and listening to the warnings, kids were more eager to enter the wooded place and try to seek him out.
Poor things. From the moment they entered his domain he had an eye on them. Hidden away in the shadows of the tree's, stalking and waiting for the right moment to strike... and then the screams came.
What he hadn't been expecting though, was someone coming through the forest from the other entrance. He'd grown so accustomed to finding the children from the entrance nearest the city, the other entrance to the woods entirely slipped his mind. As he was walking back to his home in the woods, dragging behind him the unlucky children, he saw them.
