“ Why did you spare me? ” (from vic for rio)
„This is all bullshit.“ With a tired yawn Rio was zapping through the tv program, it was half past midnight, and it hasn’t much other to offer than porn ads and cheap horror movies. Nothing Rio really could work with or even find the slightest interest in. That’s why he usually didn’t do jobs like this, but this one was on him.
Ever since Vic ended up in Detroit, the man has been slipping in and out of Rio’s gang, delivering and selling drugs, making his cut of 30% and then disappearing for a while until the next job was due. Rio wouldn’t say he was fond of the other man, it was more like, he was useful, he was good in what he did. So last time Rio was about to meet Vic to pick up some cash, something went wrong, because as always when it came to gang activity every once in a while, someone gets greedy and tries to keep the cash for themselves. All Rio wanted was the cash he deserved, when the person Vic showed up with started shooting, without warning. It wasn’t the first time Rio ended up in a shooting, even though he preferred it to not get involved, he didn’t like it to leave traces behind, but that didn’t mean he was a bad shot. He shot that asshole right between the eyes. Then he aimed at Vic, maybe he would listen to what the other man had to say, maybe he wouldn’t, it depended on what Vic would do next, but when he saw the other man clutch his hands to his stomach, he realized Vic had already been shot.
That was how they ended up in here. Rio wasn’t in the mood to let Vic die yet, sure, his friend had turned out to be a snitch, but if Vic would have been one as well, the other dude wouldn’t have shot his partner. Anyways, Rio had patched up Vic as good as he could, letting him rest in one of the bedrooms in his secret hideout, with Rio in bed next to him and the criminal had no problem with covering himself with the white blanket that was now covered in blood as he finally heard the now familiar voice.
“Why did you spare me?”
Rio couldn’t help but laugh as he turned his head to look into Vic’s pale face. “Wow, you look like shit. Here, drink up, buddy.” Rio passed Vic a bottle of beer so he could get some liquid down his dry throat while Rio leaned back, arms crossed in front of his chest. “Don’t think you are special now. You make good money, would be a pity to lose that even though I am fucking pissed your friend tried to shoot me.”
