            ⦃✶⦄ ——— “so, sunset, i know it's not exactly custom or anything, but i wanted to give you this." with the air of someone rushing through an ordeal, princess twilight drew a medium sized brown book from behind her back. Gold lettering peeked out from beneath the satin ribbon that adorned its hardcover, glinting red in the light as twilight fumbled with holding the novel out. "it's, erm... f-for hearts and hooves." she said, her voice a faltering murmur as her face warmed gradually. "the girls and i - back home anyways - exchange gifts, e-even if we're not -- y'know. so i wanted to extend the olive branch."

violet eyes darted away. the sole of twilight's boot dug deep into the dirt. "besides," she added quickly, "i figured you might like some modern equestrian literature."

            ||. it is absolutely amazing, i agree~ WHICH only reminds me of my headcanon that             twilight most definitely fiddles with her really freakin’ long butt hair, like, ALL. THE TIME.             she’ll twist it around her fingers, her knuckles, her entire hands, twirl the fringes of her             bangs around, comb with her fingers to weasel out the not-knots, and DEFINITELY braid.             she braids her hair quite often. i blame rarity for showing her how to do so.

Mistletoe

in the spirit of the holidays || 6 2/5 !!

           ⦃✶⦄ ———  shivered beneath her multitude of outer layers. the     cold had skillfully weaved into the very fabric of her current coat and scarf,      and as the hands of winter traced his fingers up her spine, twilight could only      grow more sure of the imminent frost and snow. idly, she huffed and watched as      the stream of air disappeared in a puff of foggy white mist, while beside her, she      could just catch a glimpse of sunset shimmer doing the same. they were waiting for      the very first true glimpse of winter, when the first snow would rain from sky and blanket    the world in white. together, the two girls had been able to figure out the exact date,    and estimate a time. now it was just a matter of patience.

            “i bet you miss your coat around this time, don’t you?” twilight asked,      biding time with small talk, “i mean - the cloth ones are great and all, but…” she trailed     off and shrugged her shoulders. “humans - i’ve noticed - aren’t the best when it comes     to natural insulation.”

Twilight had just hinted she might be sick. So here's Sunset showing up at the door of her room, armed with a mug and jug of homemade tea, sugar cubes, a book from the human world, a huggable pillow, and a... shock blanket, all within magical hold. As soon as she crossed the threshold into the princess' chamber was that she got even the slightest bit embarassed. "Oh, I- Sorry for rushing in, I just came to... check on you...?"

            ⦃✶⦄ ——— twilight’s throat couldn’t have been any more parched then            it was right then. nor could she be any more UNCOMFORTABLE within her queasy,             aching, protesting body. needless to say, she probably shouldn’t have denied her            assistant’s service just a day ago. her stubbornness backfired on her.                     tired eyes glanced upright when the orange unicorn entered and - to say the           least - twilight was a little bit surprised. amused, and definitely flattered, but still surprised.           ( maybe it was just because she didn’t get to see sunset shimmer in equestria as often           as she’d like…. )

            “oh – sunset -!” twilight blinked as she seemed to finally notice the multitude of items            levitating just behind the other mare. “that’s really sweet of you. but you didn’t have to            go through so much trouble. i’m honestly fine.” her statement was quickly overturned by            the sharp cough that slipped through her muzzle, even at her attempt to choke it down.            still, she was determined to play it off as nothing. “just a bit of a sore throat is all.”

meteor shower ||(x.) ||  selective; accepting !! ||

            light streaked overhead, marring the constellations as the meteors showed            off their brilliance. the show put on the cosmos was absolutely FASCINATING.            it always had been. but for once in her life, twilight found herself unable to            keep her focus on the stars above. 

            spike wriggled into a more comfortable position on her lap. twilight glanced            down at the slumbering pup and rearranged her arms to better accommodate             his small bundle of warm fur. then, violet eyes turned back to the sky. if… only            for just another moment. soon enough, the equestrian princess found herself            gazing ( almost hypnotically ) at the form of her fiery friend sitting beside her.

            twilight wasn’t the most DISCRETE of ponies - PEOPLE - but sunset hadn’t            seemed to notice her staring just yet. not that twilight could help it, anyways.            sunset was pretty – no – BEAUTIFUL, even. she didn’t have to be a pony            for twilight to recognize that. or the small flutter in her chest that grew into a            near-painful thudding the longer she watched her friend gaze at the sky and –

           and oh geez sunset was looking at her now —

          twilight quickly diverted her gaze to spike. her face aflame as she ran her           fingers through the pup’s soft fur, she prayed to the stars above that it was          far too dark for sunset to notice. please, please, please.

            “it’s really pretty, isn’t it? – i – erm – the… shooting stars. i mean. obviously.”

CUP O’ TEA || accepting ||

            SUNSET STOPPED FIDDLING with the contents of her book bag             when Shimms set down their cups of tea. IDENTICAL, just like them.

            Well, MOSTLY, anyways. Sunset pulled out a scarlet journal and             flipped to the most recent entry. She tapped the pages, and hummed             a few notes under her breath as her counterpart sat down across from            her.

                     “O-KAY.” she breathed, glancing up at the other Sunset, “I                      sort of started jotting down every big event that happens around                      here ever since you showed up with all of your friendship mumbo                     -jumbo the first time.” she started to roll her eyes, caught herself,                      and was quick to try and amend herself. “Although, obviously, it…                      didn’t exactly turn out to be a bunch of hogwash. Princess Twilight                     left here a couple of months ago.” Sunset halted and bit down on                      her lower lip.

                     “I’m not gonna have to look out for another  Anon-a-Miss scenario,                      am I?

            “oh. my gosh.” twilight immediately broke into a grin that stretched from ear to ear on her face. “is that it?”  the princess stepped towards sunset and craned forward to inspect the pendant resting over the other’s collarbone. europhia flooded her senses as she glanced from the necklace to sunset’s face, and on instinct, she grabbed her hand and pulled the jacket-clad through the doors of the cafe.

            “i know you said that you’d found the pendants, but reading what you wrote about it and actually SEEING it are two completely different things!” she exclaimed, unable to contain herself before the two sat down. “i mean -- this - this is INCREDIBLE! ...confusing. but incredible! i mean we already knew that the magic here shouldn’t have been possible but this? this is extraordinary!”
