"Bro got third-partied, lag-spiked, sold the clutch, then blamed the matchmaking."
“Who did this to you?” - @peacexquiet
Fen jumped at the sound of a voice, her head whipping around to the source. Her clothes were torn - more than usual - and her face bloody. Just about everything hurt.
“It doesn’t matter. I’ll be fine.”

“Hey!”
Fen grunted as someone just about crashed into her, sending the small girl sideways to the ground. She landed with an “oof!”, grateful most of the people around them were too busy to notice the rather embarrassing display.
Ready to tell whoever it was off, Fen looked up, mouth open. A surprised noise left as opposed to any actual words. When the hand was extended, the teenager merely stared at it for a moment before finally taking it and standing. “Um . . . No problem, I guess. Though if it was one I take it that it wouldn’t particularly matter anyway.” The last part was mumbled before she gestured vaguely at the princess. “Shouldn’t you have . . . Guards or something?”

Of all the things that Ben could have been keeping from her, Fen had never expected this. This was a painful story, one of fights she couldn’t fathom and people she could hardly believe were real. She could hardly even believe Ben was real. Everything she’d thought she’d known about him had been a lie. Where he’d come from, his job, even his name. Fen didn’t particularly care about any of that at the moment, though. What mattered right now was that Ben- or Obi Wan, or any other name he may have had- was hurting.
“I . . . I really respect that. Really, I do. Especially since I don’t think you did anything wrong. You . . . You did everything you could and more.” There was silence for a few moments. “Your life is important, though. Way more important than you could ever understand, but I won’t let you forget. But maybe you should think about what’s best for you. You’re always so kind to everyone else, Ben. Sometimes you need to be kind to yourself, too.”
