Hwanhee spent most of his time in the library, after all, it was one of the only places that he felt most comfortable in. Hardly having time to explore the city, Hwanhee decided to venture out into the unknown - despite having been here for almost a year. Sighing to himself, the male shoved his hands in his pockets and bid the librarian goodbye. Now that his shift was over, he figured he’d at least grab dinner outside at a restaurant for once instead of eating mini-mart pre-packaged food. Strolling down the street, his eyes continued to observe the lively surrounding in hopes that he’ll find a place that catches his eyes.

Stopping at the crosswalk, Hwanhee quietly hummed to himself before a stranger caught his eye. Normally, he wouldn’t butt into anyone’s business unless absolutely necessary but this time, it seemed to be one of those times. Quickly, the male reached forward and grabbed the stranger’s arm, before they could carelessly walk onto the busy roads. Unsure if the other knew the walk-sign was lit red or not, Hwanhee couldn’t help but ask if they were okay.

“Please, be careful, it’s dangerous,” he lightly scolded the stranger, concern coated his words as he stared at the other. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

|| Playing with magic.

It’s not often that Mark is struck by the urge to sneak out of the commons room after dark. For the most part, he’s content with just sitting on the couch and curling up with a good book. But tonight is one of those nights where he’s full of energy, and just itching to mess around with those higher-level spellbooks he had. It’s a pain getting outside – even if he’s got the layout of the building down, he’s not the best at sneaking, especially when he’s carrying a small bookbag that throws off his spatial perception. He does finally manage, though, slipping outside and hurrying to the cover of the trees.

|| Sans moon, full human.

Going out on moonless nights is always such a weird sensation. Usually, moonlight is empowering. Nighttime always feels so refreshing, but.. Tonight, all he feels is the slight chill in the air. In all honesty, he should be sleeping at this hour, however, he’s not planning on sleeping any time soon. Or perhaps even at all? Moonless nights make him feel so vulnerable. It’s a wonder that he ever got any sleep before he was turned. He gives a quiet sigh, his eyes slipping shut as he leans against one of the trees, one hand over his wand just in case something shows up.

|| Restlessness.

Every day approaching the new moon is becoming more and more miserable. Regular human senses are just so dull compared to how Ross usually goes about -- his hearing and sight feels impaired and he can’t scent properly around this time in the moon cycle, so he’s very much more jumpy than usual.

Probably why he’d chosen to ditch one of his favorite classes today, avoiding having to squint to see what’s happening. It isn’t that his human sight is anything particularly horrible, but his eyes always have a harder time focusing like this. Not to mention the fact that he can’t pick up the scent of whatever substance the professor would be using. Tomorrow is going to be hell, he decides with a little groan, rubbing his hands against his face. Why couldn’t he just be a normal kid? At least they don’t have to deal with this constant ebb and flow of power..

..He seems to realize he’d made a sound after a few seconds, glancing around to make sure nobody had heard him. It wouldn’t be the first time he’d ditched class like this, and it’s certainly not the last, but getting in trouble isn’t fun either way.

|| Moonlight, or lack thereof.

It’s a rather peaceful night, for once. Sneaking out was hardly an accomplishment anymore, as for how conspicuous the nightly guards made themselves, but tonight there was hardly a sound as Ross slipped from the confines of the school. Being inside at night always makes him so restless, especially in such a huge building like this. Thankfully, he’d mapped out the majority of the paths he would ever need to take by around halfway through his first year here -- sharpened hearing and night vision certainly helped with that whole ordeal, even though he had wound up getting scolded more often than not back then.

It’s nights like these that are altogether a relief and a stress. For one, the moon is not much more than a thin claw hanging in the sky, very little moonlight falling upon the school grounds. It means he’s safe for the night, but it also means that his heightened senses are a bit dull. Perhaps that’s why it seemed so quiet out tonight, and why it would get worse for the next couple of days.

With a quiet huff, he flops down on the ground, just staring up at the stars. At least the sky is still a sight for sore eyes, even sans moon.
