“Only if you’re doing the same, Jacky-boy. Wouldn’t want you to get all worn out worrying about me – I already know I’m a lost cause in the sleep department.”
Mark reaches up to run the fingers of one hand through Jack’s hair, just carefully carding through the strands. He can’t help the soft smile that creeps onto his lips.
“I’ll stick around if you let me take you out to dinner or something, deal?”
Jack tries to laugh casually. “I’m perfectly healthy,” he lies. “Never better. You won’t be a lost cause for long, though, Markimoo. I give hella good cuddles. I’m the cuddle master!”
He melts into Mark’s touch, arms tightening around his waist. His face flushes at his offer. “Out on a date, eh? I don’t know if there’s anywhere to go, but if it means you’ll stick around, it can’t hurt.”
Mark picks up that slightly different note in Jack’s voice, and shakes his head with a little smile. “Then you won’t have any problem, eh? If you’re perfectly healthy, there’s nothing to worry about.”
“And I’m sure we’ll think of something. Even if it means leaving campus for a while, heh.” There we go. The top reason Mark is not a prefect. “..If you’re down for a good time, anyway.”
“Yep, no problems whatsoever. What are problems, anyhow?” Jack says, perhaps a bit too quickly and nervously. He smiles at Mark’s suggestion of breaking the rules; he’s not getting a prefect badge any time soon either, what with his late night sketching sessions.
Feeling confident, he attempts to flirt back somewhat. “I’d break any rule you wanted me to if it meant spending time with you.” Okay, so maybe that was less flirty and more really stupid and cheesy, but he’s totally got this in the bag.
Mark gives a little chuckle, finally just flopping on the bed. This is more comfortable, anyway. He reaches out to offer Jack some cuddles, since it seems he regrets breaking contact after a couple moments. This kid is warm and he’d like to just wrap him up in a hug for the rest of forever. That’s totally not a gay thought.
“Aw. That’s real sweet of you,” he practically purrs, grinning up at the Gryffindor boy. “Look at you being cute. That’s not fair.”
